**SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY – PLEASE READ LISTING IN ITS ENTIRETY**
On rare occasions, very special vehicles become available for purchase. This is one such occasion, and it’s one that will snap any serious muscle car aficionado to attention. Up for auction is this impressive 1972 Buick GS Stage 1 (not a clone), finished in ‘Blue Royale’ (custom formulated purple/blue/black). This Buick restomod is 1 of 1,015 produced with the 455/TH400 combo, of which maybe 500 or so survive. The original block has been fitted with Stage 2 TA Performance Heads, ported and polished. Fuel flow is courtesy of a Holley 900 CFM Throttle Body with port fuel injection controlled by an AEM ECU. A Rick’s Stainless Fuel tank stores the go-go juice. Keeping it all cool is an AutoRad radiator with electric cooling fans, and there’s a custom-machined serpentine belt system with tensioner at work on the front of the engine. David McIntosh of McIntosh Performance built the engine, which has been stroked to 472 cubic inches, making approximately 600+ HP. When she fires up, the sound is amazing, and it’s very clear that there’s some serious power lurking under the hood. That rumble is piped through TA Shorty headers and a custom 3” exhaust. The TH400 tranny has been upgraded with a shift kit and a 3000-stall torque converter which is connected to the original 10-bolt rear with 3:31 limited slip gears.
She rides on a gorgeous set of Forgeline wheels, 18” up front and 19” in the rear, wrapped in BFG G-Force TAs. Bringing all the get-up-and-go safely to a stop are Baer 6-piston brakes, fed by stainless lines. If you have any experience with muscle cars of the era, you know that the handling wasn’t high on the priority list, when they were designed. That’s been addressed with this GS Stage 1. A Hotchkis TVS Stage 2 suspension with Bilstein shocks adds confident cornering capability to the mix.
Moving to the interior, you’ll find era-correct custom leather upholstery. Open the trunk, and you’ll see the theme has been carried throughout. A fantastic looking set of Dakota Gauges provides the driver the necessary information, and they’re stunning when illuminated. There’s a custom stereo system to provide the tunes, with two 12” subwoofers to add some punch. To reduce vibration and noise, Dynamat has been installed throughout. There’s new glass to provide a clear view of the road, and to add some piece of mind, a Street Eagle auto tracking device is included.
This amazing machine was rescued from certain death (see photos), with all panels being appropriately addressed. It has undergone a frame-off restoration, and all body work is top-notch. The restoration took nearly 18 months to complete, and when all time, materials and parts are tallied, the total invested eclipses $120K. The end result is a stunning, era-correct restomod, which features modern technological advances, along with updated pops of style.
This is a very, very special vehicle. Don’t miss out on the chance to own it!
**AUCTION DETAILS**
As mentioned at the beginning of this listing, please, serious bidders only. Be fully prepared to provide the necessary funds, including a deposit, should you be the winning bidder. Upon placing an initial bid, please contact me through eBay with a note that you have sufficient funds to cover the purchase, and that you intend to follow through with the purchase, if you are the winning bidder. If you do not do so, your bid will be canceled. This is a rare vehicle, so please understand that it’s important to weed-out any jokers. A $5,000 deposit (cashier’s check or wire transfer) is due within 72 hours of auction close. The remaining balance is due within seven days. The vehicle will not be turned over until all funds have been received and verified. If the winning bidder is unable to pick up the vehicle before the seven day funds requirement expires, arrangements can be made to store the vehicle until pick-up is possible, but payment is still required. Funds are accepted in the form of a cashier’s check or wire transfer. This vehicle is offered for sale AS-IS, with no warranty given or implied. This is a reserve price listing. DO NOT ASK WHAT THE RESERVE IS. I will not reveal that information to anyone. Also, please be aware that I reserve the right to end this auction at any time, as the vehicle is available for sale outside of eBay.
The winning bidder is solely responsible for picking up or shipping the vehicle, upon a successful auction. No shipping or any other services are offered as part of this auction. Any such logistics are the responsibility of the winning bidder.
I am listing this vehicle on behalf of the owner. I am not the owner. Please ask me any questions that you may have, and I will get you the answer(s) as soon as possible. The vehicle can be viewed at its location by appointment only, if desired. Please check my eBay rating, so that you can bid with confidence. I have been an eBay member for many years with a stellar track record. I have sold several vehicles via eBay (both my own and for associates), so rest assured that you’re dealing with someone on-the-level, who takes sales of this magnitude very seriously. Bid with confidence, and again, please feel free to ask any questions you may have.
Happy bidding!
