Car description

I bought this car in 2002, and it has been sitting in the barn for the last sixteen years. In 2002 the car would run and drive, but just barely. The gas tank was filled with sediment and the car would stall when the carburetor got clogged. I had the tank cleaned and reinstalled along with a new sending unit, but a new gas line and carburetor cleaning are needed to begin to get her started now.
What'sGoodabout this car: It's close to totally original, including the paint, interior, and engine.. It's a Century --which means it has the senior Buick engine in what is actually a Special body. It's a four door hardtop. This body style was introduced in '56 or '55 and was entirely new and modern . There aren't many of these models around. There's little rust on the car. Photos show door jambs and rockers as solid. Other photos show surface rust on the cowl, door tops, and hood.Note that the car was once in California as indicated by the Naval Base sticker on the front bumper. All doors open and close properly. I love the colors! They are the 50's in spades!
What's Not Good. . . First and foremost, the car will needa competerestoration. The left rear window is broken.Overload springs are on the car, with the (I believe) original springs in the trunk. The car was in a "fender bender" and has a dented right rear fender, resulting in an uneven seam along the trunk lid. The lid opens and closes with no problem, however. The car is equipped with an automatic transmission, but that's about the only option on it. It didn't even come with a radio! There is rust perforation under some of the rear window trim. The glove box catch is broken.
Please! Don't bid on this car, unless you intend to buy it! There is no reserve, and the top bid will own it, no matter the price. Arrangements forpick up and transportation of this vehicle are the buyer's obligation and expense. It is a "non-op."
