1969 Buick Skylark Custom - Body Only
This Buick Skylark started life as a custom convertible with a 350 under the hood. I purchased the car as you see it here with the intention of using it as a foundation to restore my father's 69 GS. However, in the process of planning for this I found the same car completely finished which is why this is for sale. As a result this Skylark is a solid starting point for your restoration as the hard and expensive body work has been done. It needs finishing in preparation for final bodywork and paint.
You will see as you look through the photos an extensive amount of work, primarily in areas which are typical of this generation Skylark will need. The selling price of this body will be a fraction of what it would cost to duplicate what you see here.
As you go through these photos you will notice only the drivers side quarter panel was replaced due to poor body work in the past. The rear wheel houses and trunk drop offs were also replaced in the process of the extensive bodywork done here. The floors were replaced as pictured along with only the truck floor braces.
The passenger side quarter pane, inner rockers, outer rockers, passenger floor braces and body mount areas did not require any work. After the floors were completed the body was rolled over and fully undercoated as you will see in the pictures. This was done by the preference of the person who started the restoration.
As noted in the title I am only selling the body of the car as pictured with:
- Convertible top - frame needs work
- Trunk - very clean, no rust
- Passenger door - clean with the exception of one area along the bottom that needs a patch, see picture
- Passenger fender - very good condition, dog leg and support on the back in excellent condition
- Hood - Minor surface rust due to the previous owner leaving it outside. A quick sand will get you right back to bare metal again
- Core support - Areas near the body mounts need work due to rot, available through many companies. Nobody makes aftermarket pieces and good OEM ones are $500 or more if you find them.
- There is nothing more included with the body of the car.
I have a clear Ohio title in hand for the car.
