Car description |

You are viewing a epic late eighties icon.
1987 Buick Regal Grand National. When this car hit the streets people took notice. I ordered a new 1986 Grand National back in 1985 and can remember how nothing could run with that car. I droveoff the dealer lotwith the tires spinning. Two years to the day I parted with that car enjoying every minute I had with it. Fast forwardthirty years...
I stillthought fondly of the Grand National. I ended up in this 1987 as my second. It stillattracts all theattention it always did, and it still as fast as I remember. Youcan't pull into a gas station without people walking over to talk about it. Youcan't roll down an avenue without someone looking out of the corner of their eyes at you. Youcan'tpull away from the stoplight without barking second gear on the 1-2 shift. It is that kind of car. It is that kind ofattitude. Bad.
This 1987 wasorderedsimilar to how I ordered my 1986. Most every option was about performance. Here are the specs ofthis 1987:
WE2 Grand National package. G80 Limited slip differential. TT5 Tungsten Halogen High-Beams. WG1 Six way power seat. A31 Power windows. AU3 Power locks. A90 Power trunk release. N33 Tilt wheel. UX1 AM-FM seek-scan radiocassette with equalizer. UW4 Concert Sound speakers. K34 Cruise Control. C49 Rear defogger. CD4 2 speed wiper with delay. B91 Door edge guards in black aluminum.
Its all business with a side of pleasure. Great driving car, well maintained, good paint (painted sometime in the early 2000's). Great bumper fillers. Nice rims and correct tires. Correct factory engine bay with properly functioning factory brakes. Very nice interior with a slip-on boost gauge on the a-pilar (and the original a-pilar plastic to put it back to stock if you care to). Great dash with correctly working gauges (tach & boost gauge included). Windows work well, radio & climatecontrol work as designed too. There is a updatedfuel regulator & it is correctly chipped for todays fuel with matched injectors (original chip in glove box). True dual muffler exhaust exiting in correct location. Upgraded rear anti-sway package. Scan master equipped formonitoring functions. This GN is still stock appearing & function. Can cruise down the highway in overdrive at 30MPG. Can come out of a dealership with the tires spinning just as easily. It is just like being a kid again.
You want a good 1987 Grand National? This is it. I have priced it fairly and will miss it when it isgone.
This 1987 Grand National is sold as-is with no warranty expressed or implied. Payment in full expected within five (5) working days of auction completion. Buyer is responsible for shipping or driving the car home. Please email with questions.
