Re-listing due to non-payment by member antonioap87 of the Russian Federation. Do not accept a bid from this E-Bay member! 1961 Buick Lesabre 2 door Bubbletop. I purchased this car in Northern California approximately 12 years ago. It was a very nice, rust free daily driver. I used only about 1 month and then started a restoration on it. It came with the 364 nailhead engine and 2 speed transmission. I removed these and replaced with a complete professionally built 401 engine from a 1961 Invicta and newly re-built 400 turbo-hydro transmission. The engine was bored .30 over and has all new components throughout. It was balanced and built by a professional mechanic with over 30 years of experience in race engines, including most of the winning aluminum race boats in the Pacific Northwest. All specifications are included with the engine build sheet. The engine has been completed with approximately 1 hour run time. The carbueration consists of two new 650 Thunder Edelbrocks on a factory cast manifold. The cam is a mildly aggressive hydraulic cam with some lope. The headers were professionally built by a local mechanic engineer and are one-of-a-kind. They have been specially powder coated. The radiator is a new aluminum radiator that appears very close to the original. The driveline has been shortened, balanced, and installed. The brakes, including emergency, have been re-built and work properly. The engine compartment and undercarriage have all been cleaned and painted and look very nice. The front suspension and steering components are pretty much all new. All has been cleaned, painted, and replaced. The front has been lowered approximately 2-3 inches. There is a small spot of rust behind the passenger rear wheel but otherwise rust free. The dash is completely cleaned and repainted and beautiful. All vent and heater cables were cleaned, oiled, and work as they should. I have installed a new Pioneer AM-FM-CD amplified player with all wiring to the future speaker locations. The transmission linkage and column indicator is new and reads correctly for the turbo-hydro application. The interior includes the original rear seat and two nice electric bucket front seats from a Toyota Avalon. These fit correctly and are the correct height. All of the glass is in great condition and the chrome is above average. If for show purposes, the new owner might choose to re-chrome the bumpers and have the stainless brightwork professionally polished. All is included, straight, and nice. The car includes all parts to finish this restoration. I have a clean title, receipts, and documentation for the professional work done. I am very critical of my work and have spent many, many hours to get this car to this point. All of the bolts are of the highest grade I had available.I built this car with the intentions of driving for many years, but my plans have changed. The work to complete the car include bodywork, paint, interior, and exhaust from the headers to the rear of the car. The car runs and drives and can be drivenonto a trailer. I will consider delivery of the car to the new owner on an agreed price per mile.
Note: The engine re-build for the block only was $4,800. The total money spent on the engine and transmission easily exceed $12,000. I have over $20,000 invested in the car at this point. The work to finish the car includes some body work but all of the bidders I had said that the body work required to finish the car is not difficult. There is no rust on the floorboards, trunk, or body except minor spot mentioned above. This is the right car to invest in!
