These previously unknown and by-passed "Y-body" cars are now becoming known and desired. Buick, Oldsmobile, and Pontiac produced Y-Bodies from 1961-1963. Very light at 2700lbs and fast, compact size, cutting edgeengineering, allaluminum V8,uni-body, four-link rear suspension, early muscle cars. Pricesare rising fast. There is an Oldsmobile Y-body for sale now for $71,000, another sold at $42,100, a Pontiac Y-body just sold for $39,000.The Buick Y-body is the best style.
Skylarks were special built: In 1962 Buick made a Limited Edition Hardtop coupe in the Special line with a High Compression "Power Pack" all aluminum V8 engine.This motor is a work of art and an engineering masterpiece.GM sold the Patents, tooling, and manufacturing rights of the Buick 215 to Rover of England in 1965 and the motor was used in many vehicles, race cars, boats, and even airplanes due to it light weight and reliability. It was also used in Land Rovers until about 2004.
At cars shows I have yet to see another one, and it gets LOTS of attention.
This car is Rust-Free and still has the original undercoating on theunderside ofthe body. Under the undercoating you can see the MINT original primer. It is inincredibleshape. Everything works, it drives great, and it is fast.
New BFG 215/60-15 tires on new 15" x 6" wheels.If you want the stock 13" rims and original hubcaps, they will be included.
Options:Rare Regal Black original color exterior and original Red interior. Tinted windshield, glare proof tilt-type mirror, remote-control outside mirror, Dual-Path drive, glove box lamp, electric clock (works!),windshieldwasher. Everything works great.
Skylark model standard options included:Power Pack motor, floor carpets, foam padded front and rear seat cushions, safety padded instrument panel, chrome roof drip moldings, single-speed wipers,wheel discs, white sidewall tires, back-up lamps,oil filter, deluxe steering wheel,deluxe radio that works,rocker panel & wheel opening moldings.

The Engine is numbers matching, and by that I mean the engine isTHE"born with" unit. V.I.N. is stamped on the engine. Ibelievethe transmission is rebuilt original too.
Engine:Rebuilt about 3000 miles ago.On the car now is an all-new Offenhauser Dual Weber DCNVA carburetorintake.Theoriginal stock intake, rebuilt original 4 bbl carb, and original air cleaner come with the car if desired, and is very easy to swap.Stock exhaust manifolds flow into custom exhaust with a FlowMaster muffler and it sounds great (sound videos are on Photobucket link).Cam is a Crower Level 3 and has a nice strong lope to it and lots of power.Valve covers and air cleaner still have original Factory "Hammer-tone" paint on them in excellentcondition.Fresh oil change, coolant changed, all new hoses, NOS AC spark plugs and new AC wires, new coil. Transmission:Original 2 speed Dual-Path. Looks to be rebuilt. Shifts perfectly. Fluid changed.
Rear end:Original 3:36 ratio.Oil changed.
Brakes andSuspension: All good. Stops perfectly. Newer pads. Fluid changed. Wheel bearings cleaned and repacked. Allsuspensionand steering is good and tight. Drivesstraight.All body and suspension bushings are good.
Body:Beautiful rust free with original panels, base coat/ clear coatrepaint. NO rust repairs needed. All trim was removed for the re-paint and then polished and re-installed after paint. Car was block sanded. Color sanded and buffed. High gloss. NO dents, NO scratches. GSX emblem added to grill, easy to remove but looks perfect there. Unbelievably clean under body. Zero rust. All original glass is good. Front and Rear bumpers are new chrome. All trim isexcellent, some minor pitting around reartaillights, but I did not feel the need to re-chrome. Some new window and door weatherstripping only where needed. Body is RUST FREE. Amazing body condition. Way aboveaverage.
Interior:ALL ORIGINAL Very Rare red/black BX514 code interior. Steering wheel is excellent condition-no cracks. Dash is excellent-no cracks, original doorpanels are excellent with original carpet on them, original carpeted kick panels,original headliner is excellent,original clock and Radio are still working. All gauges and controls work. Excellent originalseat covers front and rear except only drivers seat looks redone. New carpet, original excellent mesh package tray.

This caris one of the rarest cars out there and is a joy to drive.
It is super-smooth, fast, and gets looks every where it goes. It's a very light weight car with lots of power. Runs excellent.
