Car description |
---|
You are looking at a 1954 Buick Super Riviera 2 dr H.T. also known as a sport coupe (model 56R). It is a restomod. This vehicle receives horn honks and thumbs up everytime I take it out. It will only continue to apreciate in value if it is maintained properly. The body has undergone a frame off restoration a few years back and then the frame was replaced with a 15 year newer perimeter frame and stretched 12 inches. This newer chassis included front power disc brakes and a more modern power steering and suspension system. The original nailhead engine was replaced with a 1969 Buick Wildcat V8 (430 cubic inch big block, with a four barrel qaudrajet carb, delivering 360 H.P. and 475 Ft.Lbs. of torque on premium gas). The dynaflow trans. was replaced with a GM400Turbo Hydramatic automatic transmission and a GM 10 bolt differential with drum rear brakes. The only body modifications were to remove the large trunk ornament, the leters BUICK from the hood and the words SUPER from each quarter panel. The car sits at aperfectly normal ride height with its newer chassis and you wouldn't know otherwise except for me telling you all of this. It starts, runs, idles, drives, rides and stops exactly as it should. The ride is cushy and there is no shimmy or vibration. A year or so ago the engine was updated with a new stock cam & lifters, high volumn oil pump, water pump, Billet HEI distributor with 8.5mm plug wires and an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold. It also recieved a new set of TA custom cast aluminum valave covers. It also recieved a new engine front cover that houses some of these items and a new timing chain & sprokets. The interior has had the seats rebuilt and the interior upholstered with snow white pleated marine grade naugahyde. I have just this month replaced the plush custom sewn carpets in the interior and made the trunk carpets using 8 square yards of matching plush powder blue cut pile carpet. I also replaced the cardboard kit to finnish out the trunk. A few months ago all the door, cowl to hood and rear trunk rubber seals were replaced. The wheels are like new chrome reverse 15" smoothies with smooth baby moon, giving it that special look to go with the Coker Classic radial wide white walls (P225/R75 x15). The wheels are 8" wide by 15" or about 2.5 inches wider than the original tires. The spare matches the ground wheels and tires. The roof color is India Ivory as is some of the interior color. The interior is also 1955 Corvette Regal Turquoise metallic while the outside turquoise is actuall called Azzurro Ishia Metallic. The paint is two stage (base coat/ clear coat) and has an exceptional shine. This car gets raves everywhere I take it. People like the curved lines and the color combination. I also added Buick Ghost lights to the bottom of each door so the Buick tri=shield reflects on the ground. See photos to appreciate what the car has to offer. Several people have asked about the hotrod magazines that are in my photo of the keys and manuals. They are a copy of Ol'School Rodz and Car Kulture Deluxe. The car was photographed in each of them Dec 2015 and March 2016. so they will go with the car when sold.
