From the Hills of Pennsylvania. This Auction is for a 1930 Buick Series 50 Coupe with 46,000 original miles! The car has spent its entire life within miles of where it was sold new. The car was bought new by a local Doctor in Boyertown Pennsylvania in late 1929 at the Langner and Trout Buick Agency, 6-38 South Reading Ave, oyertown Pa, ater to become Reifsnyder Buick owned by Clarence Reifsnyder and later his son Morris. The car was traded back in sometime in the 1940s where Mr, eifsnyder kept it and used it personally and for the business. It was housed in the garage shown in the picture. Mr Reifsnyder sold the car to a young man named John A. who was only around 15 years old in 1954. It was rare for Mr, eifsnyder to sell a classic Buick he liked as he was an avid Buick lover and collector and seldom parted with such a car. I believe Mr. Reifsnyder saw something in the then young man that he understood and trusted. John worked odd jobs, orked hard and did what it took to pay for the car. He would go on to own the car for the next 60 years, he rest of his life. The car is powered by a 331 Buick 6 cylinder 99 hp engine. The car has a 124 inch wheel base and it is powered by the same 331, 9 Hp engine used in the bigger sedans, imos and series 60 cars making it a factory hot rod of sorts for its time. The series 40 Buicks had the smaller 257- 81 Hp engine in them. 1930 was the last year for the straight 6 engine. After 1930 all Buicks had the 8 cylinder engines until the 60s. The Vin number is 2340903, he Job number is 30060 It is a 50 series 30-58. The Body sequence number is 695 making it very early in the production. The car is a 1930 Model but it is titled as 1929 because it was built and sold very early for the upcoming model year. Buick produced only 5,275 of the Series 50 coupes for 1930. In comparison Buick made over 90,000 different series of sedan versions that year. It is the lowest production model amount of any of the Buick coupe series, 0, 0 or 60 for 1930. There are only a few on the national Buick registry. The car was serviced at the Reifsnyders Buick Garage ( the same location where it was bought new) up until 1973 when the business relocated just outside of town, nd continued to be serviced there up until 1999 when Morris Reifsnyder the son, assed away. Since then the car has been in storage until recently. The car has never been left outside parked over dirt or left under a tree in the mud. It has never been left out in a yard or field to rot. It has never been disassembled into a million pieces . It is not constructed from several cars to make one. Many of the restored examples of cars from this period are constructed from incorrect parts, aterial, ardware, iring, nd such, nd while they may look beautiful, hey are nothing close to the way they would have come from the factory, n effect erasing an automobiles history. This car is a true survivor. Please note: I will not sell the car to anyone who wants to chop or turn it into a custom hot rod. The car has been garage kept its entire life and it shows. It has had only 4000 miles put on it since 1975. While it may show signs of its age, t has never been neglected or abused. The trunk still has its original wood lining and floor and has never been disturbed. The car also has the original wood in the roof and body framing behind the metal panels. The glass looks clear and crisp with no cracks and no delamination. There are no rust holes or patches, he body is all metal and solid. The floor panels are intact, olid, nd still show the original factory stampings. Though the interior has some typical minor signs of age, ray and seam separation in several spots from use over the years, t is still the original interior as it came from the factory and looks decent. It also has the original privacy shades and rear carpet. Do not make the mistake of replacing it or installing a custom interior. To do so would diminish the value of the car. You should only service and maintain it as it is. It is near impossible to find these cars from this era with any of their original interior intact let alone surviving. Things to note, ront rubber floor mat needs to be replaced, ts the original from 1930 and is brittle. The buick emblem for between the headlights is in nice shape but needs new clips and rubber. It is wrapped in trunk of the car. There is some minor paint flecking on the wheel spokes. This is an antique historic vehicle. Due to age it is being it is being sold As-Is where is. It may show signs of typical wear, ear, ade, aze, hip, ing, rack or other imperfections and or may require maintenance, epair, eplacement or service of any and or all components. The original headliner is intact with no rips or tears. The car has the original fabric felt weather seals around the doors and they are in remarkable condition.(see pic) The car still has oil change and service stickers from through the years in the door jamb from the same Buick dealership garage where it was sold and serviced since new. The phone number on the one is so old it has only 2 digits. That is from back in the days when you had to tell the operator to connect you. The phone number for the Buick agency was "Boyertown 98" The car has been maintained and serviced, nd driven sparingly over its life. The gentleman who owned it put only a little over ten thousand miles on it since 1954. The car has been registered as Pa. antique vehicle since 1958,(57 years) and also has the original 1958 permanent registration card. The car was professionally repainted once years back and still looks amazing. The finish is mirror like and looks stunning. It is like a sheet of glass. The car has spent its entire life garage kept or stored, ence it was never rotted into the ground or built from parts of several cars like most of them that show up. The engine runs strong with good oil pressure. It does NOT smoke, nock, r make any noises. The steering feels tight. The car goes down the road straight and does not drift or sway. I have put over 400 miles on the car in the last year driving around the country side. The tires have good tread. The car is a true survivor with low miles and a known history. The Victrola phonograph in the trunk goes with the car. The original engine Hand crank,(engine also electric start) lug wrench, ap wrench, nd jack are still in the trunk. There is a metal MD Doctors porcelain badge that goes in the right front window. There is also an antique Leather Doctors bag as old as the car that is fully equipped, lass syringes, eedles, bstetrics tools, eather mounted head mirror reflector, urgical tools all from the 20s, 0s and 40s that stay with the car. You could spend thousands on a rough version of a car like this, hen spend 20 to 30 thousand on restoration work in a shop before it even gets to primer and then thousands more to have the engine rebuilt and buy missing hard to find odd and end parts all before even getting to paint. But you still wouldn't have an original car. If you ever had to restore one then you know what I,m talking about. Or you could buy this one that already looks stunning and have a very original car with a known history. If you ever wanted a car like this, ere is one you can afford. You hear stories about cars like this but rarely ever come across one. I know in my lifetime I will never own let alone find another one like it.
