1964 Buick Riviera
KX - Coded 425 Dual4-Bbl (Numbers Match)
'64 Buick Riviera. Factory KX-coded 425 dual four barrel car. Largely stock and unmolested, but in need of full restoration. Optioned with air conditioning, inted glass, ower windows, ower vent windows (rare), utomatic (vacuum trunk release), ront seat belts, and power driver's seat. I'm not surewhether it has a posi differential or not, ut would guess it a possibility given the other options.
Trim tag reads: STYLE 67-4747 FB10538,PAINT 608 (last digit iffy),TRIM 621 FF *, ACC. EXNTS-2K-4F-5Z
I bought the car earlier this year with the intention of using it as a parts car for the dual-quad 425 and air conditioning for my less-optioned driver '64 Riv. When I saw that it wasnumbers matching, omplete, nd largely original (save for the paint), couldn't bring myself to part it out.
A full photoset of the car taken October 3, 015, an be foundon myPhotobucket account here: http://s1346.photobucket.com/user/tiga78/library/1964%20Buick%20Riviera%20KX%202x4-Bbl%20Project/October%203%202015%20-%201964%20Riviera%20KX%202x4-Bbl?sort=3&page=1
(Note: There are earlier photos on my Photobucket as well - feel free to peruse these too, eeping in mind that they are taken while I was still cleaning the trunk and interior, uch that the October 3 albummost accurately shows the car's current state.)
The dealership tag on trunk suggests itprobably started its life as a Colorado car,but it eventually made its way to Minnesota. The previous owner imported it to Canada in the early-2000's. Everything about the car suggests that it hasn't been driven since the '70s, rom the old-style rad hoses, ll four headlight bulbs being T3's, o the Sears Allstate battery.
The car now has a valid Manitoba Transfer of Ownership Document (TOD - the Manitoba equivalent of a title) which I will sign over to the new owner, ut I also have a file with some old paperwork from its life in the US, ncluding an old American (I think Minnesota) title that will go with the car as well.
Engine is seized, ut appears complete with carburetors (stamped numbers are Front: 3645S AL3, ear: 3646S AK3), inkage, aluminum 'BUICK' script valve covers (some corrosion), nd chrome dual snorkel air cleaner (some pitting/rust and snorkel dents, nd acorn nut is stuck). Stamping on driver-side front of block matches the VIN (7K1069282). The air conditioning system under the hood also looks largely complete.
Car appears to have been painted once (it is white now), ut the outer body is largely rust-free.Rockers, oor bottoms, nd rear quarters all look to have only surface rust with no holes. The body does have some dents, ost notably at the left front corner (fender could be bodyworked but should probably be replaced, nd parking grille will need replacing - I can supply a nice onefor anadditional$100 if purchaser is interested), nd on the right-rear quarter at the wheelwell (it should be workable, ut I would suggest replacing the stainless molding).
I have not had the car on a lift, ut what I can see of the underside looks quite solid. Only major rust areas I've found (and which can be seen in detail on the Photobucket) are a few holesunder the rear seat area, nd a sizeable hole in the driver's side front trunk area(about 6 inches in diameter) above the body mount. The rear of the trunk pan, nd the trunk areas under the tail lights appear solid.
Glassis tinted. Side windows and back window are free of breaks, nd all have their factory Soft Ray stampings. Windshield is cracked and will need replacement.
Most chrome and trim looks fairly decent, ith a few dents and scrapes here and there. Tail light bezels have very little pitting, nd lenses look good.
Interior was very rough when I got the car; it looked like it had been a home to a few creatures over the years. I have removed and thrown awaythe headliner (but all bows were left in place, nd the sunvisors, irror andtrim that were removed are all in the trunk) and the rear seat bottom (it was too rusty to save). Dash looks complete, nd pad may be useable as-is.
Wheels are Buick rallies (with a matched set of four Wildcat center caps) that I think came off of a mid-'60s Wildcat. Also included are all four of the car's factory wire/spinner hubcaps (I don't have the steel wheels). Tires will hold air long enough to push the car around, ut will definitely need replacing.
The reserve is significantly lower than the $5,000 Buy-It-Now.
Payment: Buyer to pay a $500.00 deposit via Paypal within 24 hours of auction's close. Payment of balance expected within a week of auction's close, itherin cash on pickup or via USPS International money order if car is to be shipped.
Pickup/Shipping: Car will need to be trailered from my building about 5 miles north of Winnipeg, anitoba. While I would prefer that buyer come and pick it up in person, ou can also use a shipping company of your choosing. Tires will hold air long enough to load car onto a trailer, ndnone of the wheels are stuck (it's heavy, ut rolls freely).
I am happy to assist with loading the car onto a trailer, ut you will need to make all of your own arrangements for your shipping company to come and pick up the car if (I am not prepared tomake the shipping arrangements).
Car will need to be picked up by October 25 to ensure that we get it out before snowfall. Thanks for looking and good luck!
