Car description

1991 BMW 325IS E30 RWD two door w/ 5sp manual transmission- 100% original and unmolested with original M42 motor. This car has been relegated to weekend use and is rarely taken out of the garage. That being said. the car could be driven across the country today with absolutely no issues. Diamond Schwartz Metallic (Deep Grey) Exterior/ Black Interior (most highly sought after color combination) This year was the only year the 318iS was brought over to the States. is extremely rare. and the most highly sought after e30 other than an M3. Original owner for all 24 years. no modifications. and all OEM replacement parts. Options These options. other than the sunroof. do not come on the standard 318i model and are on this 318is: limited slip rear differential. sport seats. sport suspension. fog lights. OEM BMW BBS wheels (5). and front valence. Overall Condition This car has been garage kept and has been well maintained. a more complete list of recent repairs is shown below. A/C compressor kicks on and blows cold air. The original factory radio works. There are no check engine lights or any warning lights lit. All power windows. tach. crank sunroof. speedometer work fine. The car is one of the nicest originals you will find. I would rate the interior/exterior condition 9/10. I tried to be very thorough with the pics and even took the seats out to show how clean the carpets are. Exterior The body is straight on every panel and is free of dents. dings. or scratches. The VIN numbers match everywhere. The paint on the body has a rich. deep shine. The car was parked in a garage and it looks that way. The exterior is about as good as you will see for an original. Also. there are no rust issues (the fenders. rockers. and tailights where almost all others have rot are perfect on this car). If you would like to see more close-up pics of the wheel fenders. taillights. and underneath along the sides I can email these. The exterior is 9/10. only minor imperfections are at the front of the hood and on the top of the spoiler seen only in direct sunlight. In short. people walking through my garage comment that the car looks like it's new. Interior The interior of the car is all original and immaculate for its age. I have taken the seats out for a couple of the pics in the ad just to show how clean the carpet and seats are. The passenger sport seat and rear seat have little usage throughout the cars life. The driver's seat is structurally good with no tears but shows minor cracking seen up close (bolsters on both sport seats are firm and feel snug). The carpet is clean and the mats are rubber BMW floor mats. This car comes with a full size spare in the trunk. owner's manual. 2 keys. and the original radio code. Mechanical Close to $3000 in mechanical work has been put into this car just this year with receipts. The car currently has only 155K miles (approx 6K miles/year) with the original M42 motor. The motor runs as strong as ever and you will be hard pressed to find one that feels as smooth as this through the entire power range. The new clutch grabs nicely as well with no slipping. The motor runs off a timing chain. not a belt. and it makes no noises. Recent work done on car past 500 miles this year (with receipts): Brand new clutch disc. pressure plate. pilot bearing. and throwout bearing ($1100) Clutch slave cylinder ($90) Resurfaced flywheel at machine shop ($175) Rear engine seal and all transmission seals ($250) Rear shocks and shock mounts ($400) Brake master cylinder and fluid flush ($550) New Battery ($125) New Alternator ($200) New drive belts ($80) All fluids and general tune-up items done. ($250) As far as the car's needs: overall it's a turn-key car that can be driven anywhere. It could probably use an alignment as the steering wheel is a hair off center. but it drives straight w/out pulling so it's something I just have not gotten around to do yet. The car is 24 years old and will qualify for antique plates/emissions exempt if you chose to go that route next year. Also. classic insurance is $13/month through Hagerty for me.
