It sports a strong running 3. 5 liter inline six cylinder engine mated to a 4 speed automatic transmission with 1. 2. 3 gear selection or sport mode. NOTE: The transmission is currently stuck in safety "limp" mode and only drives in 3rd gear hence it is being sold as a "mechanic special" "AS IS". Yes. it does start. run and drive but is stuck in third gear! I just drove it about 75 miles that way. With that being said. this is a light fixxer upper or even a parts donor car. The engine is in great condition and has passed stringent California smog testing in the past. THE BODY AND TRIMThe exterior of this 1987 BMW is in quite good original 99. 9% rust-free condition overall. The front spoiler is chopped off at the bottom but the fog lights still work. There is one missing center cap as well as various light scratches. nicks and other minor blemishes on this car. THE INTERIORThe interior of this 6er is in fair to good original condition. The back leather seats are in good condition. the odometer does not work. the leather dash is warped with splitting seams. the leather on the door panels is worn a bit. the a/c is not cold. the electric windows and sunroof wok well as does the heat and the cd stereo. The driver seat is quite tattered but I have a recently redone grey leather M6 seat available for purchase at additional cost. Even with all of its imperfections. this is still a pretty cool and nearly thirty-year-old cockpit.
