Car description |
---|
For Sale is a rare example of a 1981 German built sport coupe with the legendary 3.5L SOHC inline 6 and manual transmission. This BMW has been in the family for over 20-years and has been meticulously maintained up until a few years ago. The car ran great and the engine and transmission were in excellent mechanical shape when parked. The car turns over and may crank with forced starter fluid to confirm that the motor runs, but to run the car may need a fuel pump or injectors cleaned as it has been sitting for a while now. The actual color is Sapphire Blue or Silver Blue and it looks very nice on this coupe. The actual vin # is WBAEC3104B5591546 and it is in fact a 1981 Euro Spec. Ebay VIN database may not go that far back, but this is validated through the DMV records.
This 635CSI was imported directly from Germany by a solider that purchased it overseas, and because these cars were not even yet made available in the USA, it was registered as a 633CSI with the DMV at the time. Nevertheless, you can rest assured that it is in fact the rare 635CSI here that was available in the US market several years later.
The car has been repainted a few years ago and several interior pieces were taken apart and are still in the trunk. The hood has a large paint crack and there are several other areas where surface rust may be exposed. In addition, there are several other imperfections and blemishes that should be expected around the vehicle. The windshield is cracked and several interior parts are disassembled, but may be still in the trunk. Again, given the age of the vehicle and the condition it is advised to have the vehicle inspected or swing by to look at it and attempt to crank it yourself if you are local or send a mechanic if we can get the battery to charge up and fresh fuel going. No guarantees though, as we haven't touched the car in the while.
Please complete all the inspections, previews before the end of the auction as this sale is final and as-is.This is a very rare Euro Spec E24 that certainly needs some TLC but can be one of the few ones left in US and often brings between $25-40K fully restored.
Clean and clear title will be provided with the vehicle. Shipping arrangements assistance may be provided depending on the agreement, but the cost of delivery is the responsibility of the buyer. Please feel free to call me with any questions/offers as the vehicle is also listed locally, therefore I reserve the right to cancel the listing early.
Good Luck bidding!
