Car description |

1988 BMW 635Csi –Vintage and rare with only 278 imported to US
Expertly maintained, enthusiast-owned classic Bimmer with numerous tasteful modifications
153k miles
The super smooth 3.5 liter injected 6 cylinder motor is mated with an automatic gearbox with Economy, Normal or Sport functions that is incredibly smooth with rapid acceleration. Perfect balance of power, smooth ride, and great handling. I’ve converted the majority of the drivetrain back to its original European specs with a few modern improvements.
Classic GT car
Sunroof with centered aero package
Supersprint headers with thermal wrap
Exhaust - M6 Euro specifications
Cold air intake w/ K&N filter and heat wrap
71 deg. C Thermostat
Engine runs nice and cool with lots of power
Original factory toolkit in trunk lid (unused)
Aluminum A7 Sport edition 17" wheels
The car was in storage for 4 years and before it went into storage a new ZF transmission was installed (less than 200 miles on it)
New distributor cap, ignition coil, ignition wires
New drilled and routed disc brakes with carbon ceramic pads
New MAF sensor
New battery
A/C installed, but does not blow cold. Probably a gasket leak somewhere. Before it was stored, after a freon refill it would run cold for about a week, but then would fade away.
Exterior is in good shape with some minor imperfections and a small amount of rust on the driver-side rear wheel well, but the rest of the paint has held up very well.
Interior is overall in good shape, but worn in the driver's seat.
There appears to be a slow leak from the passenger-front tire.
Previous owner installed a Sony Xplod CDX-F5700 deck, the original BMW speakers are still installed, the front left speaker has developed a crackle.
Previous owner also replaced the original auto-leveling shocks with Bilstein Sport shocks.
A few of the servos in the driver-side seat aren’t working, not sure if it’s a switch or motor issue.
Factory beverage chiller between the rear seats, air-conditioning vents for rear seat occupants, and sunshade for rear occupants.
For those looking to invest in a classic car with exceptional provenance, low running costs and great potential for appreciating values, this 635csi really is an exceptional find.
