A superb example of the E24 6-Series coupes, this M6 is a true icon of BMW’s performance M cars. Improvements over the base 6-Series cars were “M" badges on the front grille and rear decklid, body color side-view mirrors, a rear lip spoiler, larger front air dam, larger front brakes and a 10 mm lowered ride height. With their well-balanced inline 6-cylinder engines, the US M6s produced 256bhp with 243 lb-ft. of torque. In 1987, Road and Track advertised the M6 as being one of the 10 fastest cars in America. This M6 in its rare color combination has been excellently cared for over its life as judged by its superb condition as presented today with all systems in working order and as originally intended. Originally sold by Stevens Creek BMW in Santa Clara, California, this M6 remained in the Santa Clara area until 1999 when it was sold to its second owner in Arizona with just 45,000 miles. This owner kept the M6 until 2005 when it sold to its third owner in North Carolina with 50,000 miles. During this ownership, this M6 was upgraded with a Dinan ECU chip, exhaust system, springs, sway bar, BBS wheels and a Kenwood radio. Collector-owned since 2012, this M6 is complete with its original books and leather pouch, original tool kit, spare tire, first aid kit and original radio. It has been recently serviced including clutch, brakes, ignition components, fuel pump and routine servicing.
