Will smog before transfer100% Rust Free California Car
This car has been enthusiast owned for the last 20 years and owned by an ASE certified mechanic for the last 9 years (me). No expense was spared in the maintenance or modification of this vehicle.
I get compliments on this car at least 2-3 times a week and I hate to sell it but I am moving to the snow and am unwilling to watch this car rust away.
Drive-train:
General Modifications:
Teflon crank scraper
3.73 Limited Slip Differential (LSD)
OEM short shifter (z3?)
Magnaflow dual tip Stainless Steel muffler (sounds very nice)
THICK steel engine skid plate from a R3vlimited forum member
Ceramic brake pads, coated rotors and hi-temp fluid.
Valve cover painted black with silver details.
Some of the more recent maintenance (includes a big folder of receipts):
8/2019
-Driveshaft center support bearing
-Driveshaft flex disk
1/2019
-Spark Plugs
-Distributor cap and rotor.
-Alignment
-New battery (larger oversized model)
9/2018
-New differential fluid.
-New brake fluid.
Feb. 2012 – 197k miles
– Refurbished cooling system (hoses, hose clamps, water pump, BMW coolant, thermostat, recently had a new radiator)
Timing belt and tensioner
Accessory belts
Main intake elbow
Air filter
Oil change with Swepco 15w40 and filter
Steam cleaned engine compartment
Fuel feed lines to engine
Rotated tires (currently 4k miles on tires)
Spark plugs
Valve adjustment
Valve cover gasket
Cap and rotor
Suspension:
-Koni Yellow adjustable shocks front and rear
-Ground Control Camber plates, race model.
-6â€x2.5†springs in front and 6â€x2.25†springs in rear
-Suspension Techniques sway bar in front for balance.
Stereo:
-The whole system is a bit on the fritz, some speakers are on and off, probably loose wire.
-Hardwired FM modulator to factory head-unit with headphone jack input by cig lighter. (plug in your ipod, mp3 player)
12†Rockford Fosgate P3 slim sub-woofer in a thin box (LOTS of trunk space).
Crunch 1100w amp is mounted to the left side of the trunk with custom cooling fans.
2 Farad capacitor is mounted above the battery.
Dual 6x9†Polk Audio 3 way behind the rear seat headrests (no cutting was done, easily revert to stock)
The system is loud enough to make you deaf, but nobody will hear you a mile away, it's just enough bass and the 6x9â€s REALLY helped the lack of mid-range in e30's. The sub is firing through the ski-pass and is louder with the armrest down.
Interior:
I bought the car with Pearl Beige interior and the only thing left is the carpet but it has been painted black and is showing through in a couple of spots.
Steering wheel is a 280mm MOMO
The front seats are manual VADERs from a 1995 M3
Matching black leather shift and ebrake boot
OEM BMW shift knob
Fun e-brake handle
No cracks in the dash, starting to lift slightly in one spot. Stays covered all the time by a dash mat (not taped down).
Black BMW factory floormats from e46 IIRC
Rear seat is black leather with the flip down arm-rest. I installed matching black head rests as well. Rear seat was refinished with Leatherique and is basically perfect.
Rear 3 windows are dark tint, 2 front are lighter tint.
Dash cam in the front but is also on the fritz.
Exterior:
The paint on the body and wheels is peeling. Body is just the clear. Wheels is the color. (See the pictures)
The PO had the car repainted locally. It came out good, OEM quality. There are a few flaws if you know what to look for, but so do factory cars.
Smoked euro ellipsoid headlights with HID conversions.
Euro grills.
A couple repaired chips here and there.
No rear spoiler, no side skirts, no stickers, no license plate frame, and no front IS lip (it's too damn low!)
Roundels look good.
A few small chips in the windshield that were professionally repaired.
Tail lights were tinted and look bad but I probably have a pair of PERFECT original lights to include.
Wheels:
Wheels are 17x8†front and rear 4x100 hub-centric to e30.
ESM BBS LM replicas.
Converted to longer length wheel studs.
Tires are (2) Yokohama S Drives and (2) General G Max. 205/45R17 with good tread.
Fenders are rolled.
No rubbing on full lock and only very slight rub on left rear during very big bumps.
Wheel paint is peeling and they have some curb rash (See the pictures).
The bad not mentioned anywhere else:
The heater and AC blower motor makes a hellacious noise.
Remote locks only unlock but do not lock anymore.
Leaks some oil, trans fluid, and diff fluid as expected for a car this age.
Rear power windows do not go up or down.
