Car description

This is my 1989 BMW 325is.

This car has a good history. It was purchased in 1989 by the first owner in Chicago. The owner put a good 60,000 miles on the car in the first 3 years (1992). After that it was mostly used as a weekend car and sat in a garage for the majority of the time. The car was put up for sale in 2008 by the original owner at 133k. Since then it has been passed down to multiple owners ending with me.

It is an original 325is from the factory. This can be seen on the driver side door sill card in the photos I have attached above. Throughout its entire life, it has been kept as an automatic. The only real modifications that have been done to it are an exhaust and an aftermarket alarm, which has been removed. The car is still automatic right now.

This car was treated with a lot of care, but its age is beginning to show. There are some more common rust spots that can be easily repaired. The interior has issues, some cracks here and there. The front seats have wear and tear marks. The rear seats are completely clean. The car does have a limited slip differential from the factory, but it is the 4.10 for the automatic.

Throughout its entire life, this car has been driven like a normal car. The e30 platform is a great platform to mess around with, but it's also easily abused. This car hasn't been brought to a drift event. It's not an autocross car. It wasn't molested by an eBay turbo at some point in its life.

I originally bought this car with the plan to do a manual conversion and an engine swap on it, but I've discovered that it's truly much nicer than the previous owner gave it credit for. This car currently has the original automatic. The power windows and the mirrors work. The sunroof works. I've been driving it around town and it runs fine, but it definitely needs a little bit of work all around.

This is the kind of car that's perfect to build over winter. I just have other builds to build over winter.

This car isn't perfect, but in my personal opinion, it's too clean for me to build out and race/track. I have other cars for that. This one deserves to stay in the way it is. An original 325is with the original paint, engine, and trans. I would recommend you to have this car trailered back, but if you want to drive it, that's honestly fine too.

This is why I've decided to put it up for sale. Hopefully the next owner can spend some TLC to restore this thing back to 100%. Or, manual swap it and throw on a turbo. It's your car now, do whatever you want.

Reserve is set at 2499. Good luck.
