1973 BMW 2002 Base 2.0 liter 4spd Manual
I would like to start off by telling you this car belongs to a family friend of ours, whos son bought this BMW out of Raleigh NC about 5 years ago from a dealership who said it was in fantastic condition with no rust. He was deployed over seas and had always wanted an older BMW and thought he had found a deal! When he finally got home and saw the car, it was far from "amazing" shape. This is when I first got wind of this car. I own an upholstery shop here in Wilmington NC, and beside my shop is a body and paint shop that we frequently refer work back and forth. They decided to have the car stripped down and started the restoration process next door to me. The body shop had completely stripped theBMW downto bare bones, interior was taken out completely and brought tometo reupholster the seats with new material and new foam. The paint shop had the car for about a year before they had all the rust cut out andnew metal installed and got all painted. The car then came to mefor the brand new carpet, headliner, windows back installed, seats and door panels. I competed this car about 3-4 years agoand it went back to the owner to enjoy the car of his dreams.Well fast forward to now, the son gota jobtransfer to the DC area anddoes not have a garage to keep itin anddecided the best thing to do since he has no plans of leaving DC for this chapter of his career, is to sell the car.It justleft the mechanic shop with anentire list of new goodies and fresh oil change. $5k worth! This car is in great condition, and mechanically sound! You will absolutely not bedisappointed if you win the auction. My cell is 91O-52O-77five8 if you have any questions and I will do my best toanswer. obviouslyI will giveyou the family's contactas well if your questions exceed myknowledge andto thehigh bidder! I did drive the car as my daily for thepast week leading up to tonight so I had an even better knowledge of the car. I am fairly certain the gas gauge is not 100% correct, themiddle console that holds the CDplayer/satellite radio and the emergency flasher is not currently hooked up. The parts are in the trunk along with new speakers and couple other plastic pieces I'mnot sure about but pictured as well. Also in the trunk is a nice car cover. I noticed driving at night when I turned the headlights on, the dash lightsdo not illuminate inside, soits hard to see the gauges.heater and defrost works great, but the rear window defrostdid not work. I am also pretty sure its just a bulb, butthe front right turn signal did not work either.Lastly, the windshield wipersdid not work with the switch. Some of these issuesI know are not big deals, but I want to be as honest asI can.I did notlook into any of these issues to see if even a fuse is all it needs. I will also post pics of a list of parts that where just recently installed.
