Car description

I have A 1988 BMW E30 M3 available for sale. It is a zinnoberrot red on black car. I bought this car in March 2018. Which makes me an owner for about the last year and a half. I bought it from a gentleman in Atlanta. He had used it for track days, and as a result, it has quite a few upgrades over a stock M3. When I bought the car, it had about 4000 Miles on its rebuilt motor. The motor was rebuilt by a gentleman named Ben Thongsai in Chicago of B&D Auto Repair. Since then, I've added about 1000 miles to it, as I only drive it to work about one day a week in the summer months.
The engine is a stock or 2.3 L with a balanced rotating assembly. I have some of the write up on the motor, and correspondence with Ben and the previous owners about the engine. The engine runs and pulls amazingly for a stock 2.3 L.
As the car sits right now, it does not have power steering, or air conditioning on it. Given that the car is so light, power steering is not totally necessary. Anything above about 2 mph, it feels completely normal to drive. Similarly, Wisconsin does not require air-conditioning so I never made the effort to source / reinstall.
The car was repainted the original color before I bought it by the previous owner. It's a drivers quality paint job. It does have some scratches and imperfections on it consistent with a driver. This goes along with the rest of the car. It's a wonderful car to drive, and enjoy, but this is not a show car in its current state. I imagine if someone wanted to go after a paint correction, and really detail the car with a fine tooth comb, they certainly could do that. I currently drive the car to and from work one or two days a week, I wasn't interested in making it something that I was afraid to drive.

The car does have all of its original body panels and Vin tags, including the front bumper. Unfortunately, the front bumper is showing some wear, as it has been the unfortunate recipient of a "trailer incident" as it was put to me by the previous owner. The drivers fender Vin tag has been painted over, but if you look closely, you can still read the Vin number underneath the paint. The rest of the Vin tags are clear and easily legible. Another noteworthy item is that the previous owner had the sunroof deleted. The original sunroof panel was bolted shut, and skim coated prior to the repaint. This could be reversed if desired, since the panels were not fully welded together. I included a photo of the roof in the gallery.
The car has a clean Carfax and auto check report. It does not show any accidents, no salvage history or anything like that at all. Similarly, the car does not have any rust on it. This is a big deal for me. I was willing to purchase a car from down south, and have it shipped up to me, as this one was from Atlanta to acquire that rust free state.
The suspension has been upgraded, as well as the exhaust. I will outline these items in more detail below. It also has a short shift kit in it, and those items in tandem create a very enjoyable M3 driving experience.
The interior is in I would say fair shape. There are no tears or rips in the leather, but the seats are showing some age. The interior is complete except for the fabric headliner. I found a company that makes them for $350, and it was my intention to have one put in the car, but to be honest, I keep forgetting that it's missing. The rest of the expensive interior parts are there, including the sunroof header panel, A,B,C pillars.

Here is a bullet pointed write up on the car.

I am considering selling this car since I currently own two others. I find that it's very hard for me to drive, and enjoy all of them in any given summer. I do not want stick the car in deep storage either. I figured that I would offer it up to let someone else have a chance to enjoy it. If I can't get The number that I'm looking to get for it, I will just hang onto it since I do love the car.
Feel free to call or text me with any questions, as I love to talk about these cards. They truly are my passion.
Thanks much for reading,

Chris
