I have bought and sold some very expensive cars here on ebay without a hitch and with excellent feedback from same. I am a former BMW tech and worked on these cars when they were new. I looked a long time before finding a red 5 speed car.I may end the auction at any time and sell to an acceptable offer.
1985 635 CSI Original Cinnabar Red with Pearl Beige Leather, with a factory 5 speed. Reportedly a 2 owner car.
Car comes with tons of service records over the years with a lot of somewhat recent work done. $$$$ Sunroof motor and cable repair, radiator, water pump, ac, exhaust to name a few.
I bought the car in basically the same condition as being sold. I was intending to restore the car this summer however a home remodel has made that impossible.
Car has never been hit but does have a spot of paint repair approximately 3" long on the drivers side quarter panel that is starting to lift.
All glass is in good shape. Windows roll up and down correctly. The left rear rubber trim on the bumper is off. It is included with the car.
The interior is in well above average shape. The leather will need nothing but a good cleaning. The dash has minor cracks as shown.
The body is VERY straight except where very slight anomalies are noted.
The speedometers in these are notorious for failing. This car was no exception. The speedometer was replaced with a brand new factory unit. Adding all the miles from the original, a short term used, and the new unit put the mileage at roughly 121k.
Car was not running when I got it. The computer (059) was replaced and it started right up. The computer was a loaner for testing and it will need to be replaced by the new owner. They are readily available here on ebay or the forums.
The top end looks very new. While there are no service records for this repair, it has been done fairly recently.
The car will need brake pads all around along with rotors. The car will need ALL filters and fluids replaced and bled where specified.
The car comes with two sets of tires and wheels. The car sat for years with a brand new set of Michelin Pilots however they are destroyed from sitting deflated. It has a nicer set of 17" wheels that fit the car nicely. It also comes with a roadworthy set of rollers as shown. All 8 tires and wheels are included.
This is a very nice project car that will make the new owner a member of a growing group. These cars are skyrocketing in value. A red 5 speed is the gem. It is a project.
