Production of the 1600 was between years 1964 and 1971. They were the new class of cars being built by BMW. These models would ensure the company's solvency in to the future and they would also catapult the automaker into stardom as the leader in sports sedans and this would soon become the their identity and brand to this day. They started with a 1500 model and would end with a 2000 cc variant before the 2002. The original 1600...produced a whopping 83 HP, however this is far from stock. The builder used the heads and block from a Euro 323i (E21) car while the intake manifold, injectors, throttle body and engine management system out of a 325is (E30). They mated this combination to a E21 5-speed gearbox. The car itself is a original California rust free car with no rust repair ever and a excellent chassis. The paint is a two-tone paint that shows very nicely. The suspension is a coil over front and rear from a 2002 with Bilstein sport struts. Brakes a re fully rebuilt with a larger master cylinder attached to factory stock 13" Alpina wheels. The interior is awesome using 325is sport seats covered with factory Alpina cloth, upgraded audio system, alarm, upgraded steering wheel and roll bar. This car runs, drives and stops superbly with everything in working order and extremely tight. This is a wonderful build that demands attention.
