Up for sale is my 1969 BMW 1600-02 project car/rolling shell. Being an Australian delivered car it is indeed RHD.Before I begin, I must stress that this car is situated in Brisbane, Australia and the winning buyer is to assume all responsibility for the shipping of this item. I can assist to take the car to the docks but after that it's out of my hands.
Ok, so here it is. An E10 with it's roof chopped off. This is not a factory convertible. It is a sedan that was chopped off some time ago, I'm assuming in the 90's sometime ( I did have some old film photos of this car in its exact current state, hence why I'm thinking this car was done in the 90's)This is a project car that I'm no longer pursuing due to changes in my circumstances.Apart from storing it in my garage I have not sone anything to it since I purchased it almost 2 years ago now. Most parts I had for my project are mostly sold off, so the car comes as it is, but I am happy to include the roof structure as per the photos. The condition of the shell is pretty much as good as it gets. Someone spent a lot of time and money on this whenever it was done. The work here is spot on, except for the fact that the roof was cut off.
There are few small things I should mention. I would most definitely repaint the car. It looks good in the photos but you'll never get rid of the fact that the paint is acrylic and not the modern 2 pack. The second reason is because the are some moisture bubbles under the paint. It's clear cut that it is most definitely not rust, as it's on a single panel and it would have rusted right through by now. The paint on this is near 25 years old or more and apart from a tiny bit of surface rust where there was a scratch, the shell here is solid. It also has reinforcing straps along the inner rocker and center channel, apparently done to Tii specifications (don't quote me on this)
Please advise if the roof structure is not needed, but i'm assuming any buyer will be looking to put the roof back on.
I'll be updating this listing in the coming days with more photos and more information that may be relevant as the questions will roll in. I'll do my very best to be as accurate in my description as possible and I'll back up anything with images if possible.
I do have this advertised elsewhere so there is a chance I may remove the listing early if I get a buyer that way.
I will start the bidding at 99c.I need the space and the project must go.Payment would be easiest through Paypal if possible and I expect full payment within 3 days.
