I have for sale a 1991 BMW 850i in black, equipped with the 4-speed automatic. 186,000 miles.
Perfect fixer-upper as a daily driver or great full restoration project. It runs and drives, and the V12 engine pulls strong. Oil just changed. The transmission is the main problem area. It shifts rough from 1st to 2nd, and I’m not sure it can shift into 4th. Reverse works intermittently. It most likely needs a set of new clutches (though it may just be easier to replace the transmission, which can be found used for around $500). Currently, it can move under its own power, and can be driven away.
Cosmetically, the clear coat has begun to fade on most of the panels. The right front fender is damaged (see pictures). Some pieces of the interior trim are missing or damaged. Windows and radio (aftermarket subwoofer) function normally. The center console screen has many dead pixels. Most other interior features work normally, for the most part. The interior hood latch is missing (hood can still be opened).
Suspension-wise, it needs an alignment. Tracks sort of weird as-is. Comes equipped with a stock set of 8-Series wheels with center-caps and WS50 Blizzak winters. The brake pads and rotors have just been replaced (have receipt for that). Remus exhaust—sounds like a freight train.
The car is currently located in Highland Falls, New York (zip code 10928). No Rust, stored indoors over the winter. Clean NY title. Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
