Car description |
---|
1967 BMW 1600-2 Verona red exterior w/ black interior. Original black plate car.The car has a clean California title in my name.
Body: The paint on the body is in fair condition. It's and older re-spray and has lot of flaws if you look closely. I just had it buffed, polished, and sealed. As you can see from the pictures it shined up really nice. The rocker panels, front and rear strut/shock towers and spare tire well are rust free as is most of the rest of the car. The only rust is on the right rear wheel well(see pictures).
Interior: The interior is in good condition. It is all black. Brand new Recaro seats and Momo Prototipo steering wheel. The rear seat is original vinyl. The interior still maintains some of the features of these early cars. Such as the longer door handle pulls, window crank handle, and chrome inlay on the dash. The headliner needs to be replaced. There are speaker holes cut into all 4 interior panels. The original rear view mirror was replaced with a 5 mirror racing style mirror. All the gauges including the odometer work. Turn signals, headlights, fan, etc.. all are in working order.
Motor/Drivetrain: This car is super fun to drive. It's very quick and handles well. The motor on this car is very healthy with lots of power. At some point the motor was replaced with a 2002 2.0litre. It appears to be stock except for the 32/36 Weber electric choke which I just rebuilt. It has a brand new battery, plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor. The clutch grabs very good and the 4-speed transmission shifts very well with no grinding at all. The gear shifter is a little sloppy but there's no problem selecting gears.
If you have any questions or would like to see the car, please send me an message. I'll do my best to answer you.
