Car description

Hello Car Community, Please read thoroughly, this car will need to be towed but I'm looking for a good home for a Bimmer guy!
For sale is a 1988 BMW 325i Convertible in-black. This is a project car and was something I was going to fix up however, I've run out of time and would like to focus on other priorities. I purchased this car used last year and it was driving great, however, it ended up sitting in my driveway after it developed a leak directly from the gas tank (which was the product of a bad patch job by the previous owner whom I wish was more honest).
Nonetheless, let me try to describe this car.
The Good:
  • Engine ran well the 5 times I took it out in the summer heat, great idle and smooth acceleration.
  • BMW Sport Seats and BMW Sport Wheel
  • 5-Speed Manual shifts good and has the "wooden trim" handle
  • "New" tires that appear to have plenty of tread, not name brand "Doral Tires" but have 480 utqg treadwear
  • All Stock -Car frame appears to be in a good shape with no-rust (car appears to have lived most of its life in North Carolina). Most notably, the wheel wells are in great shape.
  • Paint is in good shape though there are minor dings and a few scratches on the trunk
  • Hella Lens lights and turn signals are all in good shape
  • The trunk locks and so do the doors (although Driver Side will need to be lubed)
  • Top does not leak, though, it did have one 3" rip that was neatly patched near the drive side (previous owner says he accidentally cut it with shovel).
  • Top does not have a motor, this seems to be a common fix for these cars.

The Bad:
  • Car needs new gas tank installed (I have a used replacement included)
  • Odometer stopped working when I hit the "reset," I am fairly certain that mileage reflected is within the 100 miles that I had actually driven the car
  • Interior Carpet is dirty and its probably best to eventually remove or do some type of deep clean
  • Dashboard has the relatively common center cracks that many BMWs have
  • Front valance has cracks, though this appears purely cosmetic
  • I have no paperwork, other than the valid title.

Additional Notes:
*Includes Gas Tank (used from a 1991 parts car) and Fuel Filter.*
If price exceeds $1200 in this auction I will include a timing belt kit & water pump kit that I purchased online with the purpose of changing these.
***Again: This car will need to be towed, however, I will work with you to make sure you can get his at your convenience.***
