I am selling my e30 to the highest bidder, NO RESERVE, no questions. If you want it, be the high bidder because I am ready to sell. Have payment ready and winning bidder to submit $500 non refundable deposit (that goes to the overall purchase price of the car) within the first 24 hours, or I will move on to the 2nd highest bidder, and so on. If you don't bid, I won't sell you the car if the high bidder doesn't pay. If you are a bidder in the auction, I will give you a chance at it if the higher bidders don't come through.
1991 BMW 318is, 5 speed manual, 174,218 miles and counting. Odometer functions as it should. Diamond Schwarz Metallic with black interior.
Overall, a great daily driver. The VIN tags are all in place. The car has been repainted at some point in its life. The paint is the OEM color. The paint looks good from 5 feet away, but is not a show quality respray. I have 2 sets of wheels that go with the car: Schmidt Modernlines with very good tread (missing one center cap) and the original set of basketweaves. I have the owners manuals.
Catback section of the exhaust looks to be custom with a Magna flow muffler on it. The suspension is Koni Yellow shocks with H&R springs to give the car a lower stance. Camber plates. Bushings on the car are in good shape, and currently not to the point of needing to be replaced. No overheating. The power steering rack was rebuilt in May 2016, but the car appears to have a small Power Steering leak from the power steering line, as is common on BMW's.
Power windows and locks work. The sunroof does not work, but it doesn't leak. The last time I cranked the moonroof open, I was able to get it to close but it wasn't easy and I wouldn't mess with it again, unless I wanted to fix it. I have the crank/handle for it, but it does not stay in place when installed (which is why it is not in the pictures).
I have owned the car for nearly 1 year. The car has sat a lot since I have owned it. Shortly after I got the car, while driving it one day I saw the temp gauge get higher than normal, so I pulled over, and found coolant in my oil, and knew I had a head gasket issue. I towed the car home, and it sat indoors for many months. I offered it for sale locally as it sat, and every one had a story to tell me about how much it was going to cost them to fix it, and I got to the point where I decided to fix it and sell it for what they are worth. I swapped in a completely new engine from a 1991 318i that I got from a friend's car. He pulled it from his daily driver as he swapped his car. I have since been daily driving the car and it runs and pulls like it should. The engine has roughly 150k on it. There is no timing chain noise. It has not been rebuilt to our knowledge, and there are no engine modifications.
The AC has never been hooked up in my ownership. It is the R12 system. There is a compressor, but no belt. The electric fan from the front is missing. I have never messed with the AC. Overall a real great driver with great curb appeal. Getting hard to find a '91 318is at a decent price, as they seem to be on the rise. Here is your chance with a No Reserve auction. I have many pictures of the current condition. Please look through them as I tried to honestly represent the condition. Arizona title VINWBAAF9319MEE66918 showing 180k box A. Car is located in Mesa/Tempe Arizona and buyer is responsible for pick up. Feel free to message me with any questions.
