Car description |

Decided its time to let go of my prized possession... 1986 bmw 318i slicktop imported from europe with many rare options and a even more rare color, s50 swapped!! Before I start listing details, the car is located in Denver CO and buyer is responsible for pickup or shipping, $500 NON REFUNDABLE deposit required upon purchase. Car can most certainly be driven to its new home if the buyer would like to fly in and drive the car back! Now for the fun part!!!
Car is originally a European market 318i and was delivered from the factory with a very unique set of options: factory manual steering, factory slicktop (no OBC thank God), 2 mirrors, no 3rd brakelight, euro cluster, factory stereo delete, factory HVAC delete (no piping at all for AC), no power windows... as a result, this is one of the lightest E30's to ever leave the BMW factory and weighs in at 2400 lbs with a full tank of gas in its current form. Car was imported from Europe in 1988 by a member of the US Military, remained in its stock form in Colorado untill 2011 when it was purchased and driven to PA. At this point in time, the stock engine transmission, differential, and interior were all removed from the car. Engine was removed from a US Spec 1995 E36 BMW M3. Before the motor was installed, it was completely rebuilt from top to bottom and extensive porting and polishing work was done on the head by turner motorsports. A new E34 525i oil pan and pickup were installed, oil pump replaced and nut secured on, and then installed with all new mounts from front to back. ECU has a 91 octane performance chip also done by turner motorsports to account for the extensive head work, new injectors, Euro E36M3 maf, and full longtube exhaust system (EWS deleted as well). Clutch, flywheel and pressure plate were all replaced with brand new items, and a manual transmission was sourced from a 1996 328i (all seals replaced before installation, this is the same ZF transmission that came in the E36 M3). Rear differential is a 2.93 limited slip out of an E28 that has fresh oil and clutch packs in the LSD unit. Springs are G&M coils in front and Eibach in the rear (had to mix and match in order to get desired spring rate and ride height). Due to its low weight and extensive engine work, this is a VERY fast car, certainly not for the faint of heart! Paint is original but I believe the front fenders have been resprayed sometime probably around the 90's. Body is totally rust free but does have a few very small dents on the trunk and one on the door that are all hardly noticeable. There are also a few scratches in the paint but nothing major. All the chrome on the car was shadow lined by the previous owner and is probably in need of a re-coat if you want it perfect. Interior is in very good shape for a car of this age but the seats do show a bit of wear from time, there is one blemish on the drivers seat, but most importantly, CRACK FREE DASH! This car is 100% mechanically solid and ready to be driven or taken to the track. Has always been a weekend driver for me, never used daily. As far as I have been able to tell from research, this is the ONLY S50 swapped euro slicktop in this color in the US. VERY cool car, very collectable and VERY fun to drive! Car will not come with a front lip as some local hooligans stole it along with my front "BLITZGURKE" (LIGHTNING PICKLE) license plate. Might be willing to drive it to place of final delivery for a fee. CLEAN TITLE IN MY NAME!!!
