Car description |
---|
This car has NO CALIFORNIA SMOG. It has failed 3 times on the HC category - if it does not sell here I will need to scrap it. The reserve bid is the scrap value, $1500. If you have the time to fix the smog issues this is a great deal for a great car!
The car is sold as seen.
Good condition 1994 BMW 325i cabriolet, 170K miles. New roof. I have owned the car for 5 years and 60K miles with no major issues. The car is mechanically sound and runs great. It is still great fun to drive and has been very reliable. I am selling as the car has failed its california smog test (on the HC test - all other categories are fine) and I don't have the time to hunt down the problem
The bodywork is in reasonable condition with a few minor dings and scratches as can be expected on a 20 year old car. The interior needs some work, in particular the stitching on the driver's side seat has started to come apart. A couple of new seat covers and some work on the door cards and the interior would look very good.
Recent Work (last 3 years)

Recent Work (last 3 years)
- New roof with a treated rear window
- 4 new tires (600 dollar value)
- All shocks replaced
- Front brakes
- Water pump and hoses
- Fuel pump and filter
- Power steering hoses
- New spark plugs, oxygen sensor, and other obvious stuff to try and get it through the smog
- Lots of other standard maintenance
- The roof still leaks. The problem seems to be in the well behind the rear seats, once the interior is wet you need to take the rear bench out to let it dry
- The air conditioning doesn't work. This was the case when I bought the car and I have never investigated why
- The stereo head unit is not getting power
- The dashboard instrument cluster occasionally loses power.
- Some of the door trim on the driver's side is loose. I generally fix this with some strong glue and a couple of set screws, which lasts a year or so
- There is an ABS light on the dash that comes on intermittently. I have had this checked out and the brakes are fine - apparently it has to do with the power issues to the instrument cluster
- Front brake rotors and pads
- Fan clutch
- Thermostat
- Fitted car cover
- A few small interior parts
