Description
Awesome article about my BMW Collection
Ah- The E30 M3!
A car that you literally want to live in! Once you start driving you just want to keep going forever.
This particular car was setup to be reliable and drive as tight as possible while still being comfortable on typical city roads.
Originally I had big plans to turn her into a replica, Group A BTCC track car, but had so many other projects always going on that I never wanted to rip apart my beloved M3. As mentioned on Wikipedia & Top Gear (S03E02), this is THE most successful road-going race car EVER!
Personally, I think it's a bit sad the current trend of meticulously restoring these cars and turning them into museum pieces. The original S14 engine in this car needs to be heard at race tracks for generation after generation so car enthusiasts never forget the sound of what many consider the best car ever built! The handling differences between a stock M3 and one with a stiffer coil-over suspension / proper setup & damper adjustments is absolutely NIGHT and DAY!
Suspension upgrades make this car handle completely flat through the turns while still being soft enough to take my mom for rides. Remember: this is The Ultimate DRIVING Machine, not the Ultimate Original Condition Machine. Haha! ;-)
Completely clean chassis / CarFax / AutoCheck! No accidents or repairs! All maintenance was done with OEM parts by the best BMW mechanic in WI. That includes:
- Main Seals,
- Main Bearings,
- Rebalanced Crankshaft
- New Rod Bearings, Cam Bearings
- New Slave Cylinder
- New Timing Chain, Timing Rail, and all other important bits.
Revs and runs like it's still 1989!!
Her name is Lily, but I'm sure she'd be OK with you renaming her ;-) I've had her for almost 15-years and it's been an amazing journey, but now it's time to sell her and move onto the next chapter of life. It's important for me that she goes to a good home; somebody who will drive her and baby her; not let her sit year after year.
Email/call with any specific Q's!
The OEM color was BrillantRot, but I repainted her HennaRot; the best for E30 M3s.
