This is a very rare 1975 Grey Market BMW 3.0 CS E9 Couple with Automatic Transmission in Granatrot color. Based on the VIN # (4320699 - you can run the VIN at RealOEM.com for more information), t was one of the very last models to roll off the assembly line in 1975 before BMW stopped producing this model. I have owned this car in Southern California for 19 years, nd it was my daily driver for a decade. It has been stored for the past 9 years, nd is not currently running. I am selling this car AS IS, nd consider it a full restoration or parts car. I recently took it to the mechanic for an assessment, nd the prognosis was mixed (some good, ome bad... see below). I don't have the time to do a full restoration myself, ut think it would be ideal for someone who appreciates this classic as much as I do, nd has the skills and resources to get her back on the road, r cherry pick what they need for an existing project. This car has some very nice details: a stock M30 straight six cylinder engine with '84 heads, rebuilt automatic transmission (by Precision European in OC), new radiator, erman language dash/components, ood glass, uro Bumpers, uro Tail light, 4" BBS mags (with spare), irtually all chrome/parts, riginal roundels & badges, he beige interior vinyl is okay (but could use an upgrade), he wood on the dash is okay (but could use and upgrade), neignitionkey, runk lock with two keys, orking dashboard Tachometer & Clock, laupunkt Stereo with Blaupunkt equalizer. It also has some more serious issues: rust (in varying degrees: especially in the front wheel wells - the shock towers/wheel wells are holding firm but will become an issue if not addressed - exterior surface rust on the top back of the roof, nd rust in various places under the car), he original Granatrot paint is peeling and oxidized, ome body damage from a blowout behind the back wheel (see pic), amage to the bottom of the back bumper from the same blow out, river's side front fender was shaved back to prevent wheel from rubbing, ole under the drivers floor pan, eater core/defroster is not working/leaking, he drive indicator (Reverse/Neutral/Drive) on the dash is not working (but still there), he dash is cracked, ne carb is probably not fixable, gnition switch is faulty, uel pump needs replacing, un roof is caulked shut, ubber is dried out, ight turn lens is broken, ack turn lens is cracked, river's windows slips when rolled, ower window's in back are stuck in closed position, peedometer is locked, ires need replacing, eeds a battery, eeds antenna, urn signal is touchy, he headliner needs replacing, he seat levers (to access the back seat) don't work, ome water damage to wood under butterfly windows.I don't know how many miles total miles the car has been driven (don't think the odometer is accurate), ut since 1996 it has had about 60K put on it, nd about 15K on the rebuilt transmission. I don't know anything about the history of the car prior to my purchase of it in 1996, ut it looks like it was titled by DMV in California in 1994, nd it's probably safe to assume it was in Europe for as many as 19 years before coming here. The title/registration of the car was issued by DMV as a 1976 model, ut since this doesn't exist I recently went to them to point out the error and they said if you can get her road worthy again, nd bring her in for an in-person VINverification, hey will change the title and registration to a 1975, nd you won't have to deal with a smog check.I have attached pictures for your reference, nd feel free to drop me a line if you have any particular questions and I will do my best to address them if I can. Buyer is responsible for picking up the vehicle, nd since it's not presently drivable, ou will need a flat bed tow truck for transporting to your location. I will only consider bids from buyers with strong positive feedback.Frankly this car needs a lot of love, nd I have done my best to list everything that I currently know (warts and all). If you have the time and the resources, his could be your way to own a BMW 3.0 E9 Euro Coupe at a fraction of the price. Ihave set this auction's starting price at $5K because this is what my mechanic offered me AS IS, would much rather see this car end up in the hands of someone who will give it the TLC this German classic deserves.
