Otherwise to state it more clearly, he Bentley is a Rolls Royce with a Bentley radiator shell. This was done because many people thought that the in your face Rolls Royce name and radiator were too ostentatious when seen by people of a lower economic level.

Also the V8 engine became the Rolls Royce engine of status and power in 1960 and of course the car in this ad has that famous aluminum blocked engine.

While the seller has asked that we not disclose the reserve it is so low that we can say that it is much less then a 1960 Chevrolet, ix-cylinder, our-door sedan. Yes that is pretty low. It appears that the owner is more interested in seeing it go to another family home.

If you Google these cars you will read that these luxurious Bentley S2 were produced from 1959 until 1962. These V8 replaced the straight-six engine of the Bentley S1 with a new aluminum V8 engine. The V8 offered significantly better performance than the previous cars.

A total of 1,920 standard and long-wheelbase car chassis were built between 1959 and 1962.

The car that in this auction is a car that been in the same family for over twenty years. The seller's father-in-law spent over $10,000 to go over the entire car from the brakes to the engine.

The seller told us that the 91,928 miles on the odometer is believed to be original but cannot document.

The front seat was redone by the seller for comfort. The original back seat is in good condition.
