After entertaining the idea of supplying Mokes with just a driver's seat so they might qualify for commercial vehicle tax concessions, MC's next ploy was to fit four seats. 13 inch wheels were fitted revising the body panels and the spare wheel was mounted behind the bumper as an additional impact buffer. Theymarketed the car as a budget-priced FUN machine. The Mini Moke had found its niche!!Mokes were manufactured in England, ustrailia, nd Portugal. Many were sold to tourist destinations like France, reece and the West Indies where they served as rental and courtesy vehicles. The Moke was never available in kit form, ut have always been factory produced using a steel monocoque body pan mounted on Mini sub frames. Mokes always left the factory fully assembled.Mokes were still available brand new in the UK until late 1994 - priced at more than 6000 pounds. This Mini Moke restoration was completed by Dion Jardine of DJ Minis in Westley Chapel, lorida in May of 2005. The restorer replaced the rubber cone suspension with modern shocks and added marine grade custom upholstery and top which are in excellent condition. He also installed rare matching Moke mud flaps and wheel well covers and had the bumpers chromed. This Moke has been garage stored and driven locally by the same owners since its restoration. This Moke drives great and recently received a tune up and new water pump. Not only is this little car lots of fun, ut it is definitely a head turner and always gets a smile.Very rare 1968 Austin Mini Moke - $20,000.00
