Car description |

1956 Austin Healey 100/4 BN2 available for sale. California car it’s whole life. Over 45 years of ownership records and details. It’s been apart a couple times and rebuilt. In no way am I presenting it as a 100% original car. Make no mistake, the Healey runs, drives and stops beautifully. It’s a great driving project ready for weekend cruising or for a true enthusiast to take it to the next level with some cosmetics.
Even with the faded garage paint job, this things still gets the thumbs up and turns heads everywhere. Recent engine work and tuning including new head. Distributor relocate. Original smith gauges in working order (except fuel gauge). Chrome wheels with two original spares. Newer Goodyear tires. Leaks a little oil (as they all do) but nothing else. No visible rust/rot other than small repair needed on frame horn. Heat dissipating vent nicely cut into drivers fender. Looks very much like Ferrari, and quite nicely done years ago. Nice tonneau cover included. Soft top and hard side curtains for it (not pictured) are included. Top needs material replaced. Also have binders and binders of records, old photos, heritage certificate, manuals and more that go with the car. Boxes of spare parts included as well.
Now I’m going to list all the bad stuff so people have a true idea of the car. Here’s what I believe is missing or not functioning:Traficator lever missing (turn indicator)Gas gauge doesn’t functionFront grill badge is missing one studDrivers side headlight trim missingSmall(ish) rust area on passenger side front frame horn (see pics)Rear turn signals not functioningNeeds paint for a show car, fine as is for a driverMinor damage at passenger rocker from previous owner (see pics)Not original seat frame backs. Seats are still mounted well and fold, but not original
Not in a hurry to sell. It’s a fun car that I enjoy driving, but I also have a few other projects I’m trying to work on. I am happy to answer any questions and send more specific photos upon request. Car is located on the central coast of California. Transportation to port of Oakland or Long Beach available.
