Description
This 1964 Austin-Healey 3000 BJ8 is finished in Healey-Blue and Old English White and underwent a ground-up restoration completed 6 years ago.The restoration included rebuilding the numbers-matching 2.9-liter inline-six and four-speed overdrive gearbox.
The restored interior features blue leather-trimmed front and rear seats, refinished wood, roll-up windows, and a heater.
Power output for the 2912cc inline-six was raised to a factory-rated 150 bhp for Mark III production. British Car Specialists of Stockton, California rebuilt the engine and overdrive-equipped four-speed manual gearbox, and the engine compartment has been dressed-up with plated hardware and a set of chrome dashpots.
Chassis and driveline components have been treated to extensive refinishing and powder coating. A new fuel tank, fuel lines, brake lines, and stainless exhaust were fitted during the restoration. Brake pedal effort has been reduced with the installation of vacuum-booster, and the rear suspension has been raised roughly one inch.
Today this car runs and drives great, engine pull strong, transmission shift good, no leaks, no smoke..this car is perfect.
