1959 Austin Healey Sprite The Austin Healey Sprite Mark I, better known as the Frogeye or Bugeye, was produced from 1958 through 1961. This 1959 Sprite Mark I was restored to near concourse condition in 1999. Look at the pictures - it is a stunning example of the classic British roadster. The exterior was carefully reshot in 2-stage deep burgundy and all of the chrome trim is in good nick. The restored interior is as nice as the exterior and... there is a new top and full tonneau cover. An original jack/wrench tool kit is also included. The 948cc engine was completely rebuilt in 2009. All fuel lines were flushed, tank cleaned and the two SU-H1carbs are tuned perfectly. A new clutch, pressure plate and throwout-bearing were installed and the four-speed manual gearbox shifts flawlessly. The fully detailed chassis is still virtually concourse. Lever shocks work in conjunction with front A-arms/coils and rear double trailing links/semi-elliptic leaf springs. Brakes are 4-wheel manual drum and 13" Dunlop radial tires are mounted on Minilite-style alloy wheels. This beautiful Bugeye Sprite does the famous British icon proud. Don't wait long.
