Car description |
---|
The Healey 3000. Two Seat - Tri Carb. Only 355 made.
In 1962 the 2 seater with triple carbs (BN7II) was the ideal car for the factory to take on the European Rally circuit.
The factory produced only 355 of them. Just enough to qualify as a “Production” car.
The result were rather stunning with wins in the Tulip and Acropolis Rallies, in both men’s and women’s classes.
Plus an excellent showing in the RAC rally (2nd). This provided plenty for the publicity department to
work with and these cars were all over the motoring press.
The car on offer
This one of the 355 production cars. It is a late car with the improved gearbox (center shift rather than side shift)
Matching numbers. Perfectly restored in its original colors. Old English white with red interior. If you have not driven one
before then you should. Nimble, plenty of power, with no bad habits. This car was restored in the 1990’s and shows very well.
Lovely original floors and sills. California car when new.
British Heritage has confirmed that the car was sold new into California and has its original matching number engine.
See the Heritage certificate shown below.

These are the photos that tell you the most.
Most cars look good from the topside. It's the undercarriage often indicates how well a car was restored.
Here we see nice original sheet metal. Well restored and in perfect condition.
Thank you California!
(the car was sold new in Los Angeles and lived it'sformative years in the California sun)
