Car description

Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this excellent BJ-8 Convertible. The final variation of the Austin-Healey 3000 model, the MK 3 offers roll-up windows with an easy working soft top, armbars and center console, walnut-veneered dashboard, 150 bhp engine with centershift gearbox, power assisted servo brakes, softer riding suspension, and a quieter exhaust system. This lovely Grand Tourer is finished in the handsome, attractive, popular, and quintessential color scheme of Healey Blue with correct Navy Blue Ambla trim with matching weather equipment. This car was comprehensively nut-and-bolt restored by Kurt Tanner Restorations from the bare superstructure with all body panels removed. The chassis was shot blasted to bare metal, then any repairs were made. The chassis was hand-sealed, primed, then properly painted. All panels were carefully stripped, repaired, refitted to the chassis and properly gapped. Show quality bodywork and paint was professionally performed with exceptional results utilizing Sikkens basecoat/clearcoat system then oven-baked. All mechanical components were rebuilt/ restored. The engine and all ancillaries were rebuilt, along with the gearbox, driveshaft, front and rear suspension, steering components, fuel system, braking components, etc. All interior trim soft items were replaced/renewed with perfect original style kits/materials made in the UK. New items include glass, stainless exhaust system, wiring harness, wire wheels and tires, knock-offs, trunk kit, brake lines, chrome work (new or replated original), rubber kit, light/lenses, wood dash, etc. All original hardware (nuts, bolts, washers) was replated with cadmium. All appropriate decals, stickers, and paint finishes were employed for correctness. The restoration of this beautiful BJ-8 is fully documented with a photo album attesting to it's restoration. It also includes a BMIHT certificate. This vehicle has barely been broken in, and presents in nearly new condition. It has been lovingly owned by a local Los Angeles, California family since it's complete restoration. This MK 3 offers very good value when considering the cost to restore a current donor car to this exceptionally high level.
