Fast and reliable! Crazy torque. Handles like a 911 and sounds like an unhinged muscle car, but quiet when cruising. Officially approved engine swap in Colorado. Dual catalytic converters and wide band oxygen sensor. Operational EVAP valve and CEL. Have certificate to test in Colorado as 1993 pre-OBD2.
1993 90 quattro (200k on chassis) with 1999 4.2 ABZ V8 with ~100k miles. Compression 185 in all cylinders. New timing belt and water pump. VEMS standalone ECU. Custom radiator uses OEM hoses (cut to fit) and NEVER runs hot. OEM accessory belt with A/C compressor. Minor fab work and you can have A/C. Nice black leather interior. Currently in Sacramento, CA.
