Look at this GORGEOUS 1968 American Motors REAL AMX NOT A CLONE!! This car has been fully restored. WITH LESS THAN 500 MILES since restoration. I have driven this car several times and it is FAST yet is easy to drive in everyday traffic. I took it on the freeway... it got up to 80 in no time with tons of pedal left, cruised at 65 MPH at 2500 RPM The reserve on this car is not cheap but if you look at the picture above and the 100 additional pictures below and read this description carefully I think the price is fair for this car. THIS IS A QUALITY CAR FOR SURE!! Let's start with the engine which is the Strong Numbers Matching, 343 CID V8 and it is running AWESOME. The transmission is a smooth floor mounted four speed Manual transmission that also was gone through and backed-up with the rebuilt Original Multi leaf 10 bolt rear end, This AMX with Typhoon 343ci (285HP), 4-Barrel, 4 Speed Go-Pack is a Northwest car with only 58,209 original miles. It has been recently restored to mostly original specifications. The original matching engine has all new gaskets, seals and freeze plugs and has been cleaned and painted. The car has front power disc brakes, power steering, dual exhaust, twin skunk racing stripes, original space saver spare tire with fill bottle, scissors jack and folding lug wrench, tachometer, headrests and fan shroud. Body work was completed in 2014 including new Matador Red paint with twin racing stripes. As you can see it is beautiful with a few small imperfections. New "Legendary" red interior including 5 piece molded carpeting, embroidered floor mats, vinyl door panels and Ventilear Vinyl seats (new foam) with headrests, new fiberglass ribbed headliner, sail panels and rear lower interior trim piece. Front and rear bumpers and bumper guards have been re-chromed. Newly rebuilt 4-speed Borg Warner transmission, rebuilt factory ITC shifter, new clutch, pressure plate, linkage, bell crank, etc. and new rebuilt twin grip posi-traction and rear gearing. Replaced the original automatic transmission.
