Car description |
---|
1962 Rambler American Deluxe Sedan, 3 speed manual transmission, 96,914 original miles, motor rebuilt at 70,000 miles. This car spent most of its life in Kansas. The body is in pretty good shape. Surface rust on the underside, some rust starting in the fenders and rear passenger quarter panel near top of rear door. The car was repainted in the 80's and is starting to fail. Lots of paint flaking in spots around the car but the paint still shines and looks good from a distance. The paint is the worst part about the car.
The car is in great shape mechanically. All gauges, lights, brakes, transmission work fine. Recent mechanical updates include, front end rebuild, rear brake rebuild, carb rebuild, radiator re-cored, new hoses, belts, battery, plug wires, new wiper transmission, generator rebuild, new transmission clutch installed. Gas tank cleaned and sealed. New fuellines installed. New coil and battery. New Coker wide white wall radial tires. The car needs front and rear windscreen seal replacements . Water does leak into the car in the rain. The steering wheel is cracked.
My Rambler won 3rd place at a recentCAMO AMC car show and it was featured in Hemming's Classic Car magazine in Oct 2016. I drive it regularly and have taken it on multiplevacations to Cape Cod which is about a three and a half hour drive from my home without any issues. If you are looking for a classic derivablecar, this is the car for you!
