Car description |

Some would say the greatest car ever made is now available: Comedian Doug Stanhope is selling his one of a kind 1975 AMC Pacer DL Coupe. With only 4539 original miles, and just three owners in 43 years, they don’t come much more special than this magnificent vehicle. According to the second owner, this Pacer was used by the AMC Marketing Department for the “New Pacer” print advertising campaign. Following this it featured in a national promotion, wherein AMC gave the car away in a drawing. The second owner babied this car for the next 41 years. It was twice awarded (1994 and 1998) the Bronze Plaque at the American Motor Owners Association National Concourse. Both plaques are included with this car, together with the original Owner’s Manual and Technical Service Manual, along with a number of other original AMC documents. Doug Stanhope also exhibited this Pacer at the 10th Annual Car and Bikes Show in Bisbee, AZ, and that documentation is also included. With its very rare and original Navajo interior and every option available in the day including AM/FM 8-Track and Air Conditioning (Blows Cold), working dashboard clock, and original 14 Inch Poly Cast 16 Ribbed Wheels, this is undoubtedly the best original example AMC Pacer the world over. This 1975 Pacer received a very nice repaint a few years back in its original color of Autumn Red Metallic and shows better than it did when it rolled off the assembly line in January of 1975 and the original numbers matching 258 C.I. 6-Cylinder engine was rebuilt in 2016. All of the photos from this site along with any other relevant information or paraphernalia we can find will be uploaded to DougStanhope's Facebook page, which is easily Googleable.
