Car description

INTERNATIONAL AND OVERSEAS BUYERS WELCOME! PLEASE CALL ME AT (76O) 8O5-8038 WITH ANY QUESTIONS OR IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BUY IT NOW! This is a classic 1964 AMC Rambler 440 Convertible that was restored and completed about 8 years ago. The restoration was done slowly by the previous owner over a period of about 20 years. It is a California car and the body is excellent. The floorboards and trunk are solid. The car is very straight. The paint was also done about 8 years ago and then stored outside under a cover. Unfortunately, the sun faded the paint. It still looks great and certainly deserves a nice re-paint, but I would just cruise it and enjoy it like it sits. I just want to be upfront and honest so you are happy with your new ragtop. It is an awesome cruiser like it is. You see a Ford Mustang, a Chevy Camaro, or a Chevrolet Corvette all of the time. They are all great cars but when was the last time you saw a Rambler? This car just makes everybody smile. If you do not like talking to people, this is probably not for you. The car runs very well. The six cylinder was rebuilt, as well as the automatic transmission. It is smooth, strong (for a 6), and very quiet. It shifts smoothly. The brakes are excellent. It has a new exhaust too. The engine compartment itself is extremely clean and nicely detailed. The car is bone stock. Not a Hot Rod! It still retains the stock dash, steering wheel, original AM radio, etc. The car was optioned from new with power steering, rare factory air conditioning, and power top. The AC is not currently installed but I have all of the parts in boxes. I also have two big boxes of extra parts that go along with the car. Extra hubcaps, weatherstripping, half gallon of paint, additional fabric for the upholstery, manuals, etc. The white convertible top is in excellent condition. It shows well and works well. It goes up and down with the push of a button inside. The back window is nice and clear. The bucket seat interior is excellent as well. It has been restored and looks almost new as you can see in the pictures. Factory center console. The dash is all in beautiful condition. The gauges, dashpad, and dash paint are all excellent. He even custom made all of the seat belts using authentic American Motors buckles with the R logo on them. Factory painted steel wheels with Dog Dish hubcaps. The bumpers are nice. This car is much nicer than most Ramblers you see in this price range. It is a nice car, not a perfectly restored Concours example so please be realistic with your expectations. I do not think you will find a better one for the money and certainly nothing needs to be done to drive it to the beach today. THIS ONE IS PRICED TO SELL. Clean, clear California title in hand. My dog Johnny Cash would not be included in the deal for all of the money in the world. I am located in Cardiff, CA in North County Coastal San Diego.
