Car description |
---|
THIS CAR BELONGED TO MY FATHER WHO DIED IN 1979 AT AGE 81. IT WAS THE LAST CAR HE OWNED AND USED. HE HAD BOUGHT IT AT A USED CAR DEALER AND DROVE IT AROUND TOWN. IT HAS SOME BODY DAMAGE INDICATIVE OF OCCASIONAL FENDER-BENDERS TYPICAL OF AN ELDERLY GENTLEMAN.
THE CAR WAS RUNNING WHEN HE STOPPED DRIVING ABOUT TWO YEARS BEFORE HE DIED. MY OLDER BROTHER WOULD DRIVE IT ABOUT ONCE A MONTH WHEN HE CAME TO TOWN AND MAINTAINED IT IN RUNNING CONDITION UNTIL HE DIED IN 1989. IT HAS PRETTY MUCH BEEN GARAGED SINCE THEN, EXCEPT WHEN MY SON DROVE IT TO HIGH SCHOOL,FOR A COUPLEOF YEARS,AS HIS FIRST VEHICLE UNTIL IT STALLED WITH SOME TYPE OF ELECTRICAL ISSUE (generator light went on) . AT THAT TIME (ABOUT 1986) I GARAGED IT AND IT HAS NOT BEEN STARTED, OR DRIVEN SINCE. THE VEHICLE WAS AND IS INTACT WITH ALL ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT EXCEPT PERHAPS FOR THE TIRES. THE TIRES ARE FLAT. I DO NOT KNOW IF THEY WILL INFLATE. OTHER THAN POSSIBLE ENGINE DAMAGE THAT MAY HAVE OCURRED FORM LACK OF USE AND THE ORIGINAL ELECTRICAL ISSUE, I DO NOT KNOW OF ANY OTHER PROBLEM THAT MIGHT CAUSE THE ENGINE NOT TO START WITH APPROPRIATE SERVICE AND REPAIR.
THE VEHICLE IS SOLD AS IS WITH NO GUARANTEE. I SUPPOSE IT COULD EITHER BY REPAIRED AND RESTORED OR SALVAGED FOR THE PARTS.
THE FACT THAT IT IS ABOUT 50 YEARS OLD SUGGESTS IT MIGHT BE CONSIDERED A KIND OF CLASSIC CAR AND BE OF INTEREST TO PERSONS WHO RESTORE SUCH OLD AMERICAN MOTOR COMPANY VEHICLES.
THE PRICE I HAVE SET IS BASED ON THE CONSIDERATION THAT IT MIGHT HAVE SOME VALUE AS A "CLASSIC" CAR AND THE PRESENT CONDITION OF THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE LONG-TIME UNUSE AND STORAGE AND POTENTIAL DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE AND BODY RESULTING FROM UNUSE.
THE CAR IS LOCATED IN LAS VEGAS, NEW MEXICO (87701)AND IS IN A GARAGE. ANY BUYER WOULD PAY, IN ADDITION TO THE PURCHASE PRICE, ANY COST TO REMOVE THE VEHICLE FROM THE GARAGE ANDARRANGE FOR TRANSPORTATION TOTHE LOCATION OF CHOICE.
I AM IN POSSESSION OF THE TITLE WHICH IS IN MY NAME. THE VEHICLE IS NOT CURRENTLY REGISTERED BUT I HAVE THE LAST REGISTRATION PAPERWORK. THERE IS NO LIEN ON THE VEHICLE. IT HAS A CLEAR TITLE.
THE VEHICLE DOES NOT HAVE THE TYPICAL AMENITIES OF TODAY. RATHER BASIC FEATURES OF A 1968 CAR: AM RADIO, HEATER, MANUAL TRANSMISSION WITH CLUTCH, 6 CYL. ENGINE, FEW SAFETY FEATURES OTHER THAN A SEAT BELT.
THE VIN NUMBER IS A8S060A246720
REGISTERED IN NEW MEXICO
