Car description |

1968 AMC AMX – Very Unique - Limited production 2-seater, VIN #A8C397X348054Metallicblue paint with true fire flames, High back leather buckets, Power brakes, AC, JVC CD player, Audiobahn speakers. Dash plate # 05300. Third owner, originally a California car, always garaged, no rust that I am aware of. Modified 390 with Automatic transmission. Engine stroked to 401 cu. In. Approx 9:1 compression, forged crank, forged pistons, forged rods. Edelbrock, RPM Performer heads, cam, air gap intake, Holley 4150 double pumper carb modified by Pro-Systems for blow-through (carb just refreshed).
Pro-Charger F1 under hood super charger set up for approx. 16 PSI. I have an optional belt and pulley to run at approx 25 PSI. The crank pulley and super charger brackets were custom made and this is one of very few AMX's I know of featuring a Pro-Charger. Brand new Aeromotive A1000 electric fuel pump, new battery, new solenoid, Griffin double core radiator with 3 electric fans. Edlebrock valve covers and roller style rockers. ARP high strength head bolts. Powermaster high torque starter, Mallory HyFire VI computerized ignition system, Mallory Unilite distributor, ProMaster coil, Grant steering wheel. Original wheel has cracks but goes with the car. Replaced electric wiper motor, but I never drive it in the rain. American Racing rims, tires in great shape. 2.86 rear gear. Car has been cruised, not drag raced at the track. Speedometer shows 52,698 miles, which is about 5K more than when I bought it, and reworked the engine. The paint and car are in good shape. It is not a museum piece, but a nice unique car that gets a lot of attention every time I cruise it.
