1978 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce 2000. Nice vintage Alfa Romeo Spider revived after many years of storage. Ran well in cool weather. Hot weather has brought on a stumble in the revving--probably carb jetting. The interior is in OK shape. It's missing some trim parts but overall it's pretty complete. Shifts into all five gears and the clutch feels good. It's been converted from SPICA fuel injection to dual carbs. It has some rust in rocker panels--pretty serious on the passenger side-- and a few small dents and dings but overall it's in decent shape. The top is in fair shape with no holes and a good rear window. All gauges work. The paint looks OK. Odometer shows just over 10000. I don't think that's original but the seats show little wear so who know? Tires are in excellent condition. It's had quite a bit of work done to it to get it running again including a complete driveshaft rebuild (U-joints flex-joint center support transmission mount) brake caliper rebuild and full fluids change. It's driveable and worth restoring.
Brake lights blinkers blinker cancel dash lights horn etc. all work. The only electrical component that I know of that isn't working is the wipers and I have a spare switch for them in the glove compartment.
I have over $2400 into it in parts alone. At that price it's worth the drive to check it out. I'd recommend different jets for the carbs (runs rough when the weather gets warm) and because it's been in storage for awhile little problems can tend to pop up. Don't expect to drive it home but you can take it out around town and on the freeway here in town. It's registered as "vintage" so no front plate is needed and there are no registration renewal fees.
