1956 Alfa Romeo Guilietta Spider. built in June 1956. according to Alfa Archivio Storico. and sold to Hoffman Motors in New York. Just out of an estate. here it has been with this owner since at least 1965. (1965 California reg doc). Engine number 40339. although the data plate calls for engine number 40301. Only 38 numbers apart. one might conclude the engine was changed by the factory. or a mistake in numbering perhaps. In California nearly all its life. this is an extremely rust free example. No rust through anywhere. even the battery tray is still intact. The exception being the front cross member. which has suffered impact and corrosion damage. (see photos) Mostly apart when found. we have loosely assembled the car for inventory purposes. only noted missing parts are; windshield glass. exhaust system. license lite. horn ring assembly. and spare wheel. Here is an opportunity to restore a very early Alfa Spider. elagable for events world wide. unique in its own right.
