Up for auction is a rare ALFA ROMEO GIULIA SUPER 1600 (type 105. 26) first registered in 1968 (Italy). The car is a sought after “Biscione” model with the high output 103 hp engine that was used by the Polizia Stradale . The car has the correct upright standing pedals. nbsp; a small center console between the front seats. dark green instruments and a headliner with a black frontend as well as additional stainless steel trim on the engine hood. the sills and the rain drains just as the “Biscione” snake on the C-pillar. The car spent most of its life in Italy and was imported to Germany in 2009 and therefore is in comparatively substantial good shape. The color combination of paintwork in olive green metal (AR 213) and interior in synthetic leather tan is original. The body has widened rear wheel arches due to broadened rims mounted in the past. These could be brought back to the genuine look easily. The doors and hoods are solid and in good shape though some little spots of corrosion can be seen that need care in the near future (detailed pictures available upon request). The paintwork was renewed many years ago and is aged condition now with some dull parts. For a “driver” it is absolutely ok. but the car would benefit a lot from a full new paintwork. Interior is all factory-original except the oil temperature gauge in the dash and the two little instruments below the dash (from later “Nuova” model). Front seat is worn. the rest and the door panels are fine. Mechanics are all sound. The engine starts at first attempt and runs smooth without noises or smoke etc. Gearbox. rear axle and power train are fine. The car received new tie rod ends. new exhaust. new bearings for the cardan shaft and an overhaul of the carburetors approx. 2. 000 kms ago by a specialized workshop (invoice available). The Giulia as a precursor of the sports saloons is rising in appreciation since years. The genuine 1600 models are really hard to find compared to the 1300´s that were produced in much higher quantities and often used for engine upgardes. This is a chance to own a rare “Biscione” model (only produced between 1968 and 1971 in this configuration) in decent drivers condition that would benefit from some cosmetic improvements. A new paintwork. new door sealings and new wood panels on the dash would bring back the car to its former glory and make this one even more desirable. Mileage according to odometer (175. 000 kms = 110. 000 mls. ). Don´t hesitate to contact me if you have further questions regarding the car or send email address for further detailed pictures. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________The car is located in Hamburg / Germany.
