CAR IS LOCATED IN CHARLOTTE, NC. CLEAR TITLE. I AM A 100% POSITIVE FEEDBACK USER FOR OVER 18 YEARS. I EXPECT THE SAME PROFESSIONALISM FROM ANY PROSPECTIVE BUYERS. THANK YOU SO MUCH. SEE LINKS TO VIDEOS AND PHOTOS AT BOTTOM OF LISTING.
You are bidding on one 1978 Alfa Romeo Spider. SPICA Injection(tuned very well), 5 Speed. 79K Miles. Two owner. Female owned for the last 18 years. Runs and drives wonderfully (no second gear grinding). All electrical working. Original paint holding up very well. Interior in great shape for the era. No visible leaks from engine or transmission. Tires are Michelin X-One XSE 185/70-14 and have good tread but are a little old. Otherwise, a sexy Italian sportscar....ready for enjoyment. I acquired this from the lady who has owned it since around 2000.Brakes work, but could use some more love. Probably some more bleeding.
Body is accident free. Underside of car is very clean!!!! Floors and all suspension pickup points and jack points all solid. She does have some lower body rust like most Alfas, but not as bad as most. Worst rust is confined to rear wheel well on passenger side. Some lower outer rocker rust and a little on lower section of driver side rear wheel. There is a small amount of rust in spare tire well. There is one dent on driver side front fender which could be popped out easily without any tools.
Nice canvas top, fully functional. Rear glass is hazy..there are tricks to clear this up. Lacquer thinner works pretty well, but I have not tried any...would rather leave that up to new owner. Car runs great, cranks every time.
Not a whole lot to say. Just a VERY affordable and awesome running and driving Italian sportscar, ready for your enjoyment. Worst case scenario...it would be the best parts car one could possibly ever acquire.
Only parts missing are headrests, cigarette lighter plug and side view mirrors. Only items that I would replace immediately are the cowl drain tubes. They are actually very available and easy to get to...accessible from inside of car. Valve cover has a small seep here and there...easy fix. Brakes will need some attention at some point. I got them working much better after some bleeding...could use a little more.
