Up for sale is a very nice 101 Giulietta Spider.
The good: The car runs and drives like a dream! I have driven a number of Giuliettas, and this one is amazing. The original engine was rebuilt by the previous owner. It has a few hundred miles on it.The original 4-speed transmission was rebuilt at the same time as the engine. It works perfectly. 44,735 miles on the car from new!The previous owner bought the car in the mid 1960's.I purchased it from his estate earlier this year.A few smart upgrades have been done to the mechanicals including the installation of a Weber carburetor, a Bosch starter and an alternator. (the original Solex carb, Lucas starter and Lucas generator will come with the car.)These changes all make the car much more reliable for regular driving. The car was repainted about 15 years ago and looks great! It has newly recovered seats that match what were in the car when new.The rest of the interior is completely original, including the floor mats, and carpet. The gas tank was recently boiled and sealed. It has a new battery. The tires are in very good condition. The vinyl top is in very good condition. All lights work. The horn works, The wipers work. All of the gauges work as they should. There is no rust in the trunk area, and it has the original trunk mat.The original jack and lug wrench are included. An original owners manual, and 1961 factory shop manual will come with it. (not reprints)All recent work done at Alfa West here in Denver.Floors and cross members under the seats have been cut out and replaced with new steel!
The bad: The previous owner choose not to install the eyebrows and horizontal chrome pieces on the front end. These parts will come with the car.The dash was not repainted when the car was repainted. It is a slightly different shade of red.It has a crack in the steering wheel. The car has rust on the underside of the rockers. There is no sign of any rust in the rocker panels on the side of the car.
Other notes: This car is titled as a 1961, but was built in July of 1960.For those of you looking closely- the car did not have windshield wipers on it when the pictures were taken. A set of correct wipers come with the car.
I have driven the car about 250 miles in the last 6 months. It runs, drives, shifts, stops and looks like it should.
This a a great car for someone that wants a car to drive. It looks great and drives even better.
