Car description |
---|
For your enjoyment at NO RESERVE, here is a 1971 Spider, first year of the cam tail, last year of the 1.8 liter engine (1750). Very desirable stainless steel bumpers. Originally a yellow car, it had been painted red when I got it. Car starts, runs and stops great! No smoke, no funny noises, no second gear grind. All the instruments, horn, fan, wipers, and lights work correctly. It is in need of a complete restoration. I bought the car in 2006 with the intention of restoring it, but... never got to it. Now its time for it to find a new loving home. Very nice seats and a dash cap. I have done a lot of updates on the car, some of the parts I replaced (as pictured):
- beautiful and rare thin blade Turbina wheels (not the ugly thick ones, spare is thick type)
- 205-60-14 tires (spare is 185-70-14)
- rebuilt front suspension (could use alignment)
- new exhaust system front to back
- new parking brake cables
- new Bilstein shocks
- new bushings on rear suspension
- pair of Solex C.40 ADDHE carburators (Made in Italy) with horns
- new gas tank and sending unit
- all brake hoses
- wooden steering wheel
Just replaced last month: the clutch kit (disk and pressure plate), new clutch slave cylinder and hose, new battery.
The car includes a plethora of parts!! Including a brand new top, a spare rear bumper, spare dash with no cracks, a pair of doors, and a lot of miscellaneous parts. I also have the original Spica system that came with the car. All goes with the car if you want it. The car needs obvious attention to the floors, and the driver side sill, but it is structurally sound. It is an excellent candidate for restoration. Can restore as you drive it around. Good luck bidding... a lot!
