Car description

This is a really nice example of a fairly rare Alfa. Not many of these164's were imported into the US, let alone the S model, and even fewer exist today. Thousands spent to upgrade and keep this 164S running right and on the road. Front and rear sway bars along with 17" OZ wheels and performance tread. Legendary transverse Alfa 3.0 V6 with sought after manual transmission. No synchro or shifting issues whatsoever. The shifter is a later modification and gives it a bit of a Ferrari like flair. A perfect addition when coupled with the glorious sounds this motor makes when one is going thru the gears on a twisty road. All of it exiting via the factory headers down thru the Anza exhaust system. The Italia red paint is new and shows well.
It is not perfect but more than nice enough for a daily driver or weekend tourer. The 164S has pretty much every bell and whistle offered and most everything works. One rear window can be a little balky. AC seems to bleed out after one season. The speedometer can be erratic at times. The airbag light is currently on and I have not investigated further but from looking at online discussion boards it seems like it could need to simply be reset or related to a sensor change out. I have owned this car for about two years and driven it very minimally but it always puts a smile on my face when I do. The previous owner had it for about 12 years and did much of the upkeep and major upgrades. It has been garaged for most if not all of its existence. The previous owner apparently hit a speed bump at low speed and it put a crack in the oil pan. He immediately shut it down and did not drive it but decided at that point it was time to move it on to the next owner. The pan was repaired and I have probably put about 3K on it since that time with no related issues.
I have replaced the brakes calipers, rotors and lines along with a fluid flush. I also replaced the starter and at that time it was determined it leaks a bit of oil down from the rear valve cover. Does not affect drive-ability but it does use/leak some oil because of this. But it does not seem to burn any though from what I can tell. The previous owner did not provide any receipts but I know the (Alfa) shop that did all the work over the last 12 plus years and can provide their contact info if you are so inclined to try and contact them. For me, as a car guy, it more than passed the eyeball test, which is really the important part as far as I am concerned when buying an old classic. But do your research and ask questions as everyone views old cars differently.
Alfa Romeo is finally back on these shores with the all new glorious Giulia and interest in the brand is growing once again. This is a really nice entry level classic that can be driven and enjoyed without breaking the bank. The car is being sold as is, where is, with no warranty. New owner responsible for making shipping arrangements but I will work with you to get it to its new home. Please ask questions before bidding. I will do my best to answer them.
